so recently I got an original Xbox. thing already had a Team Xecuter modchip installed.

yesterday I got a Wii U. Haven't owned one since 2016.

I miss this console very much.

nostalgia can only get you so far.

imagine this with me, it's 2009, and you're in bed on a Friday night. you turn your old PS2 because grandma got you a game for it a while ago; Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. you're about halfway through the story, and you steal someone's motorbike and change the radio to Flash FM. Tommy's cruising along to the next mission, as Out Of Touch plays as the in-game sun sets.

i find advancements in technology interesting. i used to watch that one video that had the wiiphone, and i would tell it to all of my friends. of course now that's a possibility thanks to dolphin emulator, but child me would freak out if they saw super smash bros brawl being played on the steam deck.

i remember those days of winter break when i was young, i used to lay in bed, playing my DS while the cold rain falls outside.

i went to a pizza place and they had a little arcade section.

i played a genuine donkey kong machine (take that billy) and a terminator 2 pinball machine. i liked the pinball machine.

sometimes i think about if there was a way to hold on to my nostalgia just a bit longer. it is a weird little thing.
