I’m Ember! I’m a Malaysian illustrator who likes to draw people, monsters, and monster people. I believe character design is my strong suit, and even before I pursued art seriously I love making little guys and making up scenes where I can put them together. I also write and have a formal education in animation (particularly 3D), and with all my powers combined I’m hoping to make a comic, a game, or an animation series of some kind. On the 30th of May just as I bid my fiance @lofilesbo farewell at the airport, my mother violated my privacy and searched through all my belongings. She threw out many personal items, my HRT and is forcing me to detransition entirely. Despite being employed (paid minimum wage), my hours are very limited and unpredictable. Regardless, my mother decided to make me pay 200£ for the privilege of sleeping on the living room floor of her cramped apartment. All this under threat of being kicked out unlawfully if I break her tyrannical rules.

Currently I am biding my time to try to save up to move to Brazil for good, but can not do it on our own and we need help. Every dollar counts!

I looked it up and found an article about Hannah Arendt’s book, and the article, from 2019, has a very interesting note:

I keep seeing posts claiming that x y or z action you can do to build a better world won’t matter. That capitalism doesn’t care, and your own actions dont amount to much.

It’s so painfully individualistic. Of course me doing that thing isn’t going to save anybody or anything.

Im not trying to be a superhero who personally saves the say.

I am one leaf making oxygen in a massive forest of other trees making oxygen. I am doing my best and having faith that millions of others will do their best as well.

Because that can and has made big changes over time. Like. That is just how change happens. Thats cultural shifts. Thats political shifts. Thats how lasting changes happen.

I don’t plant milkweed because I’m personally gonna save monarch butterflies. I plant milkweed because I know thousands of us are gonna plant milkweed and send money to the people fighting horrible pesticides in court.

The standard for change isn’t “is my doing this going to change the world?” The standard is “is my doing this part of the shift I want to see my community make?” And if the answer is yes, I do my best.

This is not meant to sound hostile or vague anyone but this is bothering me. "Inshallah" means "if God wills it". If your intention is to say you hope the hips don't lie but whether the hips lie or not is up to God, then you say "Inshallah the hips don't lie" but if you're trying to say "wow, the hips don't lie" or something similar, which I think is what the op was getting at, then you say "Mashallah the hips don't lie" which means "God has willed it, the hips don't lie"
