Say it with me because I'm getting pissed off now:

Zuko is not and has never been a "bad boy" he acts like that because of trauma! Because he was abused. Because his asshole dad tried to kill him and traumatized him because he was standing up for his people. So it made him angry and traumatized. The reason he acts like that: his moodiness, his outbursts, his anger issues, his short temper, his depression. Is because he was abused and than put on a suicide mission. Without any chance to heal. If Zuko was trying to be a bad boy, he would be doing everything he possibly can to piss off his dad. But because he loves his father and wants that love in return he's trying to do everything he can to please him. Even if a part of him deep down knows it's wrong. Its why he acts like that. Zuko has always been a reckless, dorky but brave and honorable person. Its not an excuse but it's a reason for why Zuko is the way he is. Hes a complicated and traumatized person. But people don't want complicated. They want black and white characters.

People need to consider 3 possibilities when it comes to adult Zuko & his life as a Father.

Just because we only got to meet Izumi doesn't necessarily mean Zuko only had Izumi.

I can absolutely see him being one-and-done in fear of one his children becoming exactly like Azula.

There's a chance whoever Izumi's mother is didn't survive her birth and Zuko refused to remarry & have more children because he was so heartbroken over the death of his wife & didn't want to replace Izumi's mom
