★ Last song: World in Motion by New Order. My bf played it last night while the England v Argentina match was on, and my cat often turns Siri on by touching the homepad on his explorations, so that came blaring out (again - the cat is defo Team Its Coming Home too haha)

★ Currently watching: My Brilliant Friend, rewatching True Blood, House of the Dragon, The Pitt, Welcome to Derry

★ Current Obsession: I'm still mentally stuck in Antarctica, on expeditions with Shackleton and Scott, eating hoosh and pemmican, scared of Leopard Seals

★ Currently reading: The Unicorn Hunters by Katherine Arden - lovely mix of medieval history and fantasy/fae! Back on my K J Charles re-reads after talking about them with @eriknocherikyes too!

★ Currently working on: 3 Cherik WIPs! A Modern AU Lawyers one (A Matter of Public Record) a random little omegaverse experiment (Just the Tip(-Off)) and an as yet unnamed/unposted Regency fic with Charles as a kind of Olivia Pope from Scandal hahaha.

★ Last google search: Whether Heathrow Airport lets you take more than 100mls through security these days (it does!!)

“Dance of the Swallows”

Swallows are remarkable birds. We see them almost every day, which is probably why we often stop noticing them. They live close to people, building their nests under the roofs of houses, barns, schools, and kindergartens, as if trusting us with what matters most—their young.

This diptych was inspired by the swallows that have lived for years near my children’s kindergarten. They built their nests right on the children’s veranda, so close that the kids could watch tiny heads appear from the nests and little beaks open wide while waiting for their parents to bring food.

For the teachers, it was not always easy. They had to look after not only the children but also the swallow families. Young children do not always understand that baby birds should not be touched, taken from the nest, or disturbed. Sometimes the best way to help nature is simply to leave it alone.

What always amazed me was the courage of these birds. Despite the noise, movement, and dozens of children playing around them, they kept returning to their nests again and again.

In these paintings, I placed them among the branches of weeping willows. In the region where I grew up, willow trees were everywhere. They grow quickly, create beautiful shade in summer, and become especially magical when the wind moves through their long green branches. And when swallows weave through those branches, an ordinary summer day becomes something unforgettable.

Perhaps the most precious memories are made of moments just like these.

I’m making a formal announcement here: if life, or fate, is going to give me that kiss between Charles and Erik when Erik looks like Adam Driver, I will curse them with all the power of fire, air, and earth.

I will wish upon them all seven plagues of Egypt, an itchy ass and arms too short to scratch it, and a pigeon pooping on their heads every time they step outside.

I could not agree more. Adam Driver as Magneto is the universe cursing me for some crime I committed in a past life, I swear.

I have no issue with him as a human, he's possibly really great, but he is NOT my Magento.

I only read something and, I can agree that the beauty of Charles and Erik's relationship in ep4, is in the intimacy that they both share and no one can recreate.

It's hard to put a single label on it, it's true. because, perhaps not even they themselves would be able to give a name to whatever they have or feel. they know that it is stronger and more complicated than being in love. and they are.

but they love, yearn, repel and respect each other so much that the desire to be with someone, even in death eternally, is next to each other. and that's the beauty.
