Have we talked about this bit of Lestat dialogue from the season one SDCC trailer actually being from the church scene? You can hear it beyond Louis' voiceover if you turn the volume up or listen with headphones. He follows it up with, "Your potential..." but I'm simply not good enough at reading lips to figure out what he says after that...

Actually, that's way more poignant than I would have imagined. " You don't fear me, Louis. You fear yourself - your potential."

How true is that!!?! That's exactly the story we have watched on screen. Louis' story in S1 & 2. Louis, fearing himself. Afraid to look too deeply within.

Louis, afraid he is a true monster, and so he'll eat rats rather than look within himself at who he truly is deep down, because at least he is following some morally 'right' rule. Louis as a mortal, paying to spend time with Miss Lily, because to love who he truly loves is a sin.

But to love is no sin, Louis. And, as a vampire, neither is murder. And oh, what potential you always had. And now that you no longer fear yourself - the vampire you are and the love you can be to Lestat.... and lucky us... we have that yet to come!
