Watching season 1 of supernatural is such a revelation. Watching Jensen unfold Dean’s character from within himself is such a gorgeous piece of art. The depth that he added to Dean’s execution is such a testament to his acting ability and where his storyline went. It’s a beautiful thing.

The year: 1988.

The location: Ella’s - a local dive bar frequented by Robin and Steve. The bar is barely more than two rooms, one taken up be a massive old wooden bar that’s probably been around since the great Chicago fire.

Once a month there’s a ladies night - which in this neighborhood, in 1988, is queer coded for lesbians. Twice a month the bar hosts karaoke, which Steve and Robin are obsessed with.

The night usually ends with them stumbling the 4 blocks back to their shared apartment giggling about Steve’s last solo.

Guaranteed, though, at some point they practice their platonic soulmate duet to Bonnie Tyler. (And yes, they know it’s not really a duet.)
