“It really is. How have you been doing with all this? Being here?”
“So far so good. I know a lot hasn’t happened yet but it’s been enlightening so far.”

“It really is. How have you been doing with all this? Being here?”
“So far so good. I know a lot hasn’t happened yet but it’s been enlightening so far.”

“Yeah, and it wouldn’t hurt to get some more practice in. I’ve been trying to learn a few current songs, in addition to writing my own. And yeah, that sounds good to me.” Briana said with a slight smile, before glancing around for an empty area to sit. “What game would you suggest? I’m up for pretty much anything, to be honest, though it’s been a while since I’ve played a card game of any sort, so you’ll have to forgive me if I’m a little rusty.”
“Writing your own songs? That’s awesome. You should play some for me sometime!” Emi enthused, clapping her hands together. “We could start with Go Fish? That’s a pretty basic game.”
Rambling isn’t always a bad thing, sometimes the thoughts in your head all need to come out. It’s normal.
“That’s true. I guess I’m just so used to scripts and every word counting and having meaning.”

“Sometimes a bad translation can change the entire meaning of what’s being said.”
“That’s a fair point. But that’s why we have people like you around, to get to the real message across.”

“Both!” Cat exclaimed to Emi. “Damian is kind of my uncle and well I’m really happy he stood up. I mean he said he was going to, but I had no idea he was going to be involved so much.”
“Well hey! There you go then! That’s pretty awesome!”

Cat was listening intently to the newest broadcast and was shocked when the familiar name was mentioned and even more proud to hear his voice come through the speakers. “Uncle Damian…” She murmured proudly. She was glad he was standing up to this. She knew he had wanted to but she hadn’t even known he had quit. His words made her fill with pride and confidence. She smiled brightly and knew she was in the right place.
“You look really happy after that.” Emi said, noticing Cat’s happy expression. “Really inspired or do you know the speaker?”

“Well, their translation sucks, but… sounds like Alfero,” he said, making a face.
“It’s better than nothing. They’re at least making it accessible to a wider range of people.”
Yeah, that actually makes perfect sense believe it or not.
“Thank god it makes sense and it’s not just a bunch of pointless rambling like I seem to be prone to sometimes.”
I never thought I would either.
“The fact that we even ended up in the situation where we needed this is upsetting. But the fact that we’re seeing it is really.... I can’t think of the words, but you get what I’m getting at?”

Briana tapped her fingers out the chords for a song she had been working on over the last few days on her leg absently, “It’s too bad I didn’t bring my cello down. This would be a good time to practice. You know, since we’re all just sitting around with nothing really to do, yet again.”
“It would have been fun.” Emi agreed. “I think I’ve got some cards and I know I’ve got a book and some paper, if you wanted to play a game or something,”
I have to say it’s really exciting to see the world all standing together like this.
“I agree. It’s really amazing. I never thought I’d see anything like this.”
“Thank you. I’m glad that my plan seems to be embraced positively by people. People seem to like it better than my other plan.”
“Remind me again what your other plan was?”
“While I appreciate that illuminating insight,” Newt started, giving her a strange look, “that’s exactly what I’m doing right now. This very instant, actually. It’s the reason I asked the question.”
“That’s usually where I start when I’m coming up with things.”
“I’ve decided to apply to accept any dragon reserve positions.”
“That’s a good plan!”
“Here’s the main issue I’m seeing,” Newt said, crossing his arms. “How do we make enough of an impact, without Macbay shutting us down?”
“Plan. Go over every possible variable.”
“The warm clothes and blanket drive will be over this weekend after I collect the Hogsmeade donations. So I’m already thinking about next month which is going to be random acts of kindness. I want to encourage people to send kind messages to one another. Maybe we can make posters that say kind and encouraging statements around the school. Still trying to work out logistics.”
“I’d love to help out with that. Just name a time and place and tell me what to bring!”
“So really… you;re just kind of against relationships in general,” Rory said, wondering what that must be like. To her, it sounded awfully lonely, but she knew that not everyone saw relationships that way.
Emi shrugged. “I guess. I’ve never felt a strong desire for one. I’m content to surround myself with friends. If I start to crave physical contact and closeness with another person I know that there will always be a friend who will be willing to provide that.” It was different, Emi knew that, and hard to understand. But she had spent a long time figuring out all of her feelings.
