NAME: Emily Faye Du Pont
AGE: 20
BIRTHDAY: 15th of December, 1998
PARENTS: Victor & Maria Du Pont
SIBLINGS: Anthony Liam Du Pont
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Straight.
LANGUAGES SPOKEN: English, Filipino, French.
BACKGROUND:
The Du Point twins took their first breath on a cold night of December in. Emily joined her twin brother two minutes later, completing the family of four. Victor came from a prominent spy family, while Maria was a property developer from Manila. A few months after she gave birth in London, they decided that due to Victor’s job, it would be safer for Maria and the kids to live in the Philippines.
Growing up, Emily had a fairly good life. Odd, in many senses, but good. The twins have never met their father. He always called, and sent them birthday gifts, he made sure that they had everything they needed and more expect of his presence. Still, they would often visit their paternal grandparents in London during holidays.
A few years later, their father decided to send Anthony to prep spy school. It was when the truth came to light -- as by then, they had no idea why they lived this kind of life. The separation from Tony caused Em to become depressed for a while as she didn’t understood why he could go, meanwhile she had to stay back in Manila on her own.
When Tony returned with the news he was going to Gallagher, he promised to bring Emily with him. And that’s exactly what happened --- if he didn’t refuse to go without his twin, Emily would have never made it. Entering this world was scary and exciting at the same time, especially since she was in it with her brother. It was a new beginning for the both of them.
MORE:
Emily is really sweet and friendly, always willing to help people out.
She’s having a hard time to adapt in Gallagher, simply because she’s naive ( sometimes too innocent ).
Right now, Em is trying to study hard and make her father proud, but the girl’s not a fighter, which is why she always ends up with a bruise after practicing.
She has a great love for music. She prefers playing the violin and piano.
Grew up next to the beach, so she misses that terribly. The pool’s not the same thing, but at least it provides her with some peace of mind.
Her brother and her are very close. Inseparable really.
She has a food allergy, so keep all the peanuts away! Just to have a peace of mind, Emily carries around an epipen.
Their dad picked everything from them, meaning she didn’t want to specialise in Protection and Enforcement, but had no other choice.
“hi, sorry -- is this yours?” the brunette asks, holding up a small wallet she found in the hallway a few meters away from where the blonde stood. “it was right there, so i don’t know if you dropped it, or someone else did.”
“do you think whoever is staying will have a good christmas?” emily asks softly, glancing over at the redhead who’s been here long enough to know if people celebrate it properly at gallagher. not going home for the holidays, has stressed the brunette, not knowing if this year’s wintertime will be the same as the rest. “i’m a little nervous and i think it will suck.”
“i can’t believe christmas is a few days away.” emily says, plopping onto her bed and crossing her legs to make herself more comfortable. “are you going home for the holidays or staying? i wish more people would stay, this place is going to be scary if everyone goes.”
“is that how intense the bootcamp is going to be?” emily asks, wiping her forehead with her towel. she wants to drop to the floor and die after practicing for what felt like hours with danny. he was kind enough to help her, but that didn’t really help her feel more confident. “i wasn’t that good, was i? don’t worry, you can be honest with me.”
“are you looking forward to christmas?” emily asks softly, eyes staring down at the dark liquid chocolate in her cup. “i think it’s going to be the worst one for me. we’re staying here, out of all places, and i’m not looking forward to spending it all alone. pretty sure tony’s going to go off and party or something.”
“are you going home for the holidays or staying here?” emily asks, looking up from her book. as far as she knows, everyone’s going to leave, and she’ll be stuck in this place with her brother for god knows how long.
“hi, ai.” emily beams, “i just wanted to say thank you, for helping me with my combat class the other day. i don’t know if you like sweets, but i got you this.”
“before you say anything...” the brunette says, sneaking up from behind him; holding up a small gift bag in front of caden’s face. “consider this an early christmas gift or big thank you for helping me practice last week. i didn’t know if you’d leave or stay for christmas, so... merry early christmas?”
“oh?” esther asks, surprise obvious, though she’s not judging. “what are you thinking of switching to?” she can’t personally imagine switching, but that’s just because esther doesn’t really think there’s anything non computer related that will interest her here. if emily wants to switch though, she supports her friend, hoping that she can get fulfillment out of gallagher, and not just a degree. “i think so, yes. i’ve been working very hard, so now it just remains to be seen if it’s been enough.” she’s way more nervous for bootcamp than tests, anyway. “i am usually good at saying no to sugar, but you tempt me.”
“medical training.” emily responds, not thinking twice about it. she’s always been so good at taking care of others, especially her brother, who would often get in trouble. with such a caring nature, how could she do anything else? it felt right, and the brunette knows she’ll find it far more interesting than anything else. besides, she truly believes she’ll be good at that! “i think you’ll do fine. i believe in you.” emily says, and smiles at her. “you can have a few.. maybe the orange bears, i never found those too sweet.”
– “OKAY, WELL, I’M SORT OF A PRO SO…just ask me next time. though i do think some of these espionage textbooks are probably a bit more difficult to get your hands on than algebra 101, so i don’t blame you, ” he says. but if encryption students haven’t been uploading gallagher texts for years then sue me ! “ what ? you thought i was a short king ? ” he laughs, “ that’s embarrassing. ” he sure hopes he doesn’t give off 5′7 energy.
“i might just do that, thank you. i was afraid to google anything, seeing as these books are not ordinary ones.” she says, the smile on her lips growing. if they can’t talk about it with everyone, who has the guts to copy these books and upload them online? not emily. “what? no --- no!” giggling lightly, she shakes her head quickly; cheeks turning red. “that’s not... what i mean. it’s just different. nicer. i guess you can’t always truly see a person through photos. i know i look taller, and i’m not, so.”
“complicated is definitely not the route i’m looking to go, so pass.” nate likes to keep things relatively simple just for his own sanity and in the hopes that devon will actually like what she gets from him. “right? now you see my issue.” asking devon is certainly the simplest way to do this. “i should just ask her, but it’s kind of a toss up on whether or not she’ll give me a real answer.” he kind of likes the idea of figuring it out on his own, even if he fails spectacularly. “wait, makeup is good. aren’t eyeshadow palettes a big deal or something? got any suggestions?”
she giggles at his response, because nate somehow ends up sounding like her brother. it was a bad situation to be in, but emily is confident they can figure something out. two brains are better than one, right? “i think you should take your chances. or.... you can be smart and have one of her close friends ask her. that could definitely work, don’t you think?” tilting her head to the side, the brunette smiles. “yup. they are. if she likes makeup, i can totally help you with that.” nodding her head, emily reaching for her phone, “do you have a budget, or? i mean... i can totally show you a few things to put together.”
“i know this is probably ridiculous,” she says, drawing a faint line on the wrapping paper with pencil, using a ruler to make sure the lines are perfectly straight, “but you should have seen my wrapping before i used this. absolutely atrocious.” and yeah, she’s been having to redo them. “oh, there’s some white chocolate snickerdoodles over there, and i need them gone so i don’t eat them all.” raina adds, trading the ruler and pencil for scissors to cut the paper.
“it’s not.” emily says softly, watching her friend do her thing. she likes the way raina takes her time with everything, drawing faint lines on the wrapping. “i’ve given up wrapping anything, because tonny always finds his gifts like that.” it was ridiculous, how easily he could read her mind and point out where emily hid his gifts. “i’m good, thanks. i’ve had the biggest salad earlier, so i think i’ll be full for the rest of the day. can i help with anything?”
“they’re definitely lying. every single guy secretly or not so secretly loves the idea behind yoga. they just need to try it.” he was so not embarrassed by anything, or not by much, and even the things he was embarrassed about, he found a way to openly accept. there was no point on trying to change personality traits. “perfect. tell me when to start and what to bring. i don’t think thing water yoga needs a mat, does it?” he asked, genuinely wondering and ready to make an amazon purchase for next day delivery. danny smiled softly, trying to look understanding and assuring. “yeah, i know that feeling. really well, actually.” he was in gallagher for that same reason, in a way, though luckily he was able to choose his majors. he was still not sure he did it alright, but he was about to graduate in a few months, so there was no turning back. “i think you should. you can just start by taking a couple electives of medical next semester, then take the big leap next year if you like it enough.” he encouraged her. “oh, come on– it’s not that– well, it can be–” danny sighed. “okay, i’m not going to lie, it’s tough, but it’s nothing to be scared of.” he shrugged. “and i mean, i’m not the fight person, but i’m taking one of the fighting classes this year, and i’ve been doing fine, so… i could help. if you let me.”
that totally brings a new perspective to things, because in her mind, boys always loved watching yoga, but when it came to the real thing... they’d rather go do something else. she catches herself smiling again because this was far from the conversation emily expected and it felt rather nice not worrying about being her awkward self around someone. “oh, so we’re going straight to water yoga? in that case.. just dress like you’re going to the pool, and don’t eat anything before the workout. we can meet tomorrow if you’d like.” she has the time, and would love to go swimming every day, so why not make it work for both of them? “i’m glad i’m not the only one then.” the brunette murmurs, though she’s not glad, people shouldn’t put these expectations on them. sometimes, it felt like her father only did this because he wanted her to fail, but for once, emily was too determined to prove how good she was at something. “i’ve seen a friend’s work for some of those classes and i really like it. what i worry about is spending another day getting kicked during practice.” half smiling, emily runs a hand through her dark locks. “no? because everyone makes it sound scary, and i don’t know how to feel about it.” scary was one way to put it in words, em thinks. “you are really nice, you know that?”
“Well, now I actually have to hit the gym so I can do a good job protecting you!” Priya huffs, though the playfulness is clear in her wide grin. “Maybe one of these days I’ll actually be able to keep up with all the cool kids here,” she jokes. “Throw on a sweater! Or wear pants. Definitely don’t let yourself catch a cold, especially in this season.”
“that’s really sweet of you! i’m sorry if i don’t think i can be good enough to protect you in return. but, i can definitely stall people for you!” that could also be helpful in a sense, right? “i think you will in no time, you’re nice and cool, so i don’t see why you wouldn’t.” emily says softly, “yeah, i promise to try my best.”
