This spicy black bean burger is a delicious and satisfying meatless option with a kick of heat. Packed with flavor and topped with fresh veggies, it's perfect for burger lovers looking for a veggie-friendly alternative.
Ingredients: 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup diced red onion. 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper. 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tsp cumin powder. 1/2 tsp chili powder. 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper adjust to taste. Salt and black pepper to taste. 1 egg. 4 burger buns. Lettuce, tomato slices, and sliced avocado for garnish. Sliced jalapeos optional, for extra heat. Sour cream or your favorite sauce optional, for topping.
Instructions: Get a large bowl and use a fork or potato masher to mash the black beans until they are mostly smooth. You can leave some chunks for texture. To the mashed beans, add minced garlic, diced red onion, diced red and green bell pepper, cumin powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Combine well by mixing. In a small bowl, beat the egg. Then, add it to the beans. Mix until all of the ingredients are well mixed. Cut the mixture into four equal parts and use your hands to form them into burger patties. Set a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat to get it hot. Use cooking spray or a little oil to keep things from sticking. The black bean burger patties should be cooked for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are hot all the way through and have grill marks. You can grill or toast the burger buns until they are lightly browned. Put a patty on the bottom half of each bun to make your spicy black bean burgers. If you want, you can add lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, and jalapeo slices on top. Put some sour cream or your favorite sauce on top. To finish the burger, put the top half of the bun on top of the toppings. Enjoy your hot black bean burger!
