Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the first time I left the house as Emily. It was to a friends birthday party and I remember the terror that struck me the moment I opened the front door. Fearful that there would be some angry âbeauty and the beastâ type mob with pitchforks shouting âkill the beast!â at me. But there was no mob. No pitchforks. Only amazing people that welcomed me and loved me for exactly who I am. That day I got to put down huge fears and remembered just how incredibly kind and loving people can be when we give them the chance.
