when i made my return this year, i wasn’t expecting to get as much activity as i have and it has inspired me to move to a new blog for comfort and organization purposes (it’s really just a brain thing)

sooo, i will be keeping this as an archive for anyone who wants to continue writing. if ya do, awesome! if ya don’t, that’s cool too! no harm done. i’ll stop rambling now and end here. i look forward to continuing the beautiful chaos.

He couldn’t lie, he wished he had known that this is what he would be dealing with, before he stopped by for the cigarettes in his passenger’s seat now.

Laryssa smiled softly at Andrew’s nickname for her, as it was one her father used to call her before he passed. She walked over to him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. “And what if something happens to you? I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself.”

As much as he was there to provide her with comfort, it was her gesture that brought a smile over his exhaustion. He instinctively lifted the hand from his other arm, placing it over her smaller one. “Nothing is going to happen to me, I promise.” His thumb stroked over hers, in attempt to reassure her. “Just like nothing will happen to you, as long as I’m here. If you lay down now, I can tell you about my grand old stay in prison. Spoiler alert: there was cable and ice cream,” he smiled, hoping that would put her worrying off with use of distraction.

we just broke up and you came over to get a box of your stuff from my place but wtf the power went out because of a really bad storm and you shouldn’t be driving in this just … chill for a couple of hours, okay?

we broke up years ago and both moved away, lost touch. now our friends each suggested a blind date and shit, you’re my date apparently. 

we moved into a little apartment together while we were dating and then we broke up but neither of us could really afford to get our own place so now we’re stuck as roommates, watching each other bring home random one night stands or dates.

you were my brother/sister’s best friend and that’s how we met, and started dating. now we broke up and you’re obviously still friends with them, and you spend nights at my place but now it’s just awkward to run into you in the hall way at 1 am right after my shower.

we broke up right before a giant roadtrip our friends planned and we don’t want to bail on everyone and ruin the trip so yay, looks like we get to spend a five hour drive and a weekend in a cottage together.

we were our high school’s golden couple but we went to different colleges and the distance broke us up. fifteen years later, i’m in the middle/just getting over a bad marriage and you’re having your own relationship problems and it’s the high school reunion.

we dated pretty seriously and your parents were also absentee. now we are broken up and it’s like five years later and your absentee father is my new boss.

never mind fake proposal/marriage. what if for whatever reason, someone pointed out the fact that muse a and muse b are practically married because of all the time they spend together and how well they know each other (and failed relationships individually, with others) and they try their best to demonstrate how untrue that is, all while doing quite the opposite and eventually they’re all “wait, could we be-?” and “no, that’s not possible, is it?” but then “what if?” and navigating feelings and such.

bonus!!! if they say they don’t, but end up seeing it for themselves, when the other commits to a new relationship.

“I needed a distraction,” he added with a nonchalant shrug. “You’re not too wasted yet, right? Otherwise, I have some catching up to do.”

what he initially wanted to blurt out was why not now. but instead, his gaze fixed on his bouncing thumb and his clasped fingers, distracting him from the feel of his rapid heartbeat. that was, until audenline’s soft touch broke his focus on ring clad fingers, and sweetly demanded his attention.

“we talked about one day having kids and touring the world together. what if... we gave that a go? now that you’re done with high school and things are kicking up for me, it’s divine timing if you ask me.”

his eyes took her soft features in - the way that her forehead creased with confusion and curiosity, her lips parted as if she was holding a breath and the way that her throat worked as she spoke calmly. she was the much calmer of the two; people who knew them in high school, always pointed out their juxtaposition auras. eddie was loud, while audeline was soft spoken. eddie was fine being the freak, while only polite things were said about audeline. the kids, now seniors themselves, took no mercy when reminding eddie that he was lucky she put up with his erratic lifestyle.

most importantly, despite it being the shadow behind their mutual break-up, she was his biggest supporter when it came to his music. besides... considering the history of the town of hawkins, it was a miracle that either one of them was still alive. wasn’t that enough? surely she’d thought about that too?

“i don’t even know if i’m fully awake, to be honest.” despite the truth behind his words, a chuckle surpassed a weary smile in attempt to ease her mind. “i’m not a ghost. i don’t think.” looking over at her after a few blinks the man raised a hand and put it on her shoulder, his attempt to prove that he was alive.

“come sit,” his arm naturally wrapped around her shoulders as he groggily dragged his feet toward the living room with her. “don’t mind the mess. had some friends over, we were hammered and i didn’t have the energy to clean up.” he motioned for her to sit, making the mental decision to get her a glass of water, inspired by his own sudden thirst.

“were you watching stranger things again, love?” he asked with an all-knowing chuckle, standing in the kitchen as he poured two glasses of water. “i’m starting to believe it, when you said that about 40% of the views this season, were you alone.” he was joining her again, this time with their drinks. the longer that joseph stood in place, the more sober he became, noticing just how messy his hosting area had become.

“this mess is giving me a headache. maybe we should head somewhere less rubbish,” he held his arm out to her, his glass of water on the coffee table now, joining the liter of red solo cups. “looks like i hosted a frat party or somethin’“ his cockney accent peaked rather shamelessly, as it usually did when he was tired or bothered by something.
