Go! Rocky, Go!
It’s impossible to convince everyone to retroactively use the tag system properly but as a fix-it I’m going to start tagging all my non-crossover Iron Lung posts with #just blood if anyone wants to join me?
(no hate to hail mary but the shipping has eaten the smaller fandom alive & it’s legitimately impossible to search for anything else atp)
what a great idea!
what PHM fans see

BROWSER ADDONS MADE TO HID FILTERD POSTS WILL CUASE YOUR SHIT TO LAG SO HARD BCS OF THIS!!! THUS WHY WE HAD TO MAKE A NEW ADDON TAG!!!
My three billionth post about this but I still find the idea of William being a personified wisp to be very fun to think about. Aside from the super obvious stuff, it also really adds to how Other he feels, and how uniquely he’s Othered by people around him. In UPP, the townspeople look at him oddly and seemingly pity him, and in PD William is often seen as weak or pathetic in comparison to his more brawn-focused teammates. I think that’s partially why William is so pushy and bossy in both series also - he doesn’t really care about being a hero in PD and he’s willing to empathize with the monsters in UPP, but he wants to be seen as an equal, he wants to show his strengths (perceptiveness and wit), he wants to help people to show that he can!!! This in relation to him wanting to be human so very bad during PD (especially s2) leaves William constantly feeling Different and Wrong whenever he compares himself to someone like Dakota or Vyncent (who Will has a problem with viewing as borderline perfect and incapable of wrongdoing).
Being a Wispy Guy has all the fun things of being mischievous and clever and a little prankster who likes to fuck with people in ways that Border on Malicious ;but never cross the line), but also in the way that William doesn’t really Belong with Anyone really . Through all the spirit world stuff we’ve seen, the wisps are one of a kind sort of spirits. The closest we’ve come to them is the chaos demons, but they’re explicitly stated to be human souls thrown into the chaos realm where they got corrupted. We have no idea what the wisps actually are in the PD-verse, especially because we don’t even have anything to compare them to. Both William and the wisps are seemingly uniquely isolated from the world around them and iiiiiiii think that is Awesome and Cool!1!1!1!!

Okay well sorry i died in ur bathroom get over it
norah animatic!!!!!
Copycat
Copycat
what do u think norlah would look like in college ?? + her major and minor :P
i know this isnt exactly wat u asked for but i doodled this cuz of this ask!!!! iv been wanting to draw norah with this haircut for eeveerrr because of charlie-jpeg 's art...ugh so cuteness
I also for some reason started a 2 page comic exploring this idea of norah and william reuniting in their 20s a little more. So thatll be out sometime soon T_T i wont go into too much detail so I dont spoil it but id love to hear other ppls hcs for the rest of norahs future!!!! I feel like theres 2 maybe 3 very obvious branches on her path (aside from her dying next episode which, while always a possibility, i dont think is likely ?) .
I feel like a lot of her character hinges on her inability to speak up for herself/make her own choices about her own life without fear of burdening/upsetting others . And i dont really see that being a part of herself she can shake off super easily or super quickly. I do have like this sinking feeling that she'll waste a lot of her young adult years trying in vain to live up to the academic standard her parents have for her which probably includes majoring in whatever they suggest. I do hope that even in this timeline she'll be able to start a band at least...or maybe once in a while see some small local live show... do something for herself every now and then...At the same time i can just see her fully throwing herself into study/academia as a coping mechanism to deal with Well Everything And Also William Straight Up Dying And Leaving Forever Without A Word . And Also All Her Newly Acquired, Oh And Also all The Previous Mental Illnesses. Not to mention all the medication shes gonna be on. well...this was my true honest headcanon before s2 episode 3. Now frankly I close my eyes and picture norahs future and its lowkey a psych ward like I cant even lie.
Then theres the beautiful sparkling joyous world in my mind where she gets out of deadwood and majors in whatever the hell she wants like music or fish ...science...(?(.. or literally whatever as long its her choice. and lo and behold shes room-mates with ashe winters . and they become close friends. And they start a band together. she cuts her hair. she wears whatever clothes she wants. and she stays in touch with Mrs. wisp and they write letters to each other. And whenever she visits deadwood she gets a part time job at the convenience store and still has sleepovers with mrs. wisp sometimes. Whenever william shows up again its awkward and weird and sucks a lot forever. This..... is my ideal world🧘♀️💖

It's commonly accepted in this fandom that humans have extremely fragile bodies in comparison to Eridians, but I think that's actually an oversimplification.
Because while Eridians are incredibly strong and tough on the outside, on the inside they are actually quite fragile:
They have no immune system, so anything that makes it past their enclosed carapace and internal heating will pretty much kill them
They have no natural defenses to radiation of any kind
In general they have very little organic matter so anything that targets their cells directly is quickly lethal
They are partially cold-blooded and live at a very narrow temperature range (about 20 degrees C)
They rely almost entirely on one, highly developed sense and are helpless if deafened (can't even remember the layout of a room)
They are completely helpless while asleep and can't control when that happens
They will forcibly become dormant after eating AND when badly hurt enough (their equivalent of going into shock)
They require more energy to function than humans do, and have very little organic matter to burn in the case of starvation
In contrast, humans:
Have an aggressive immune system and internal mechanisms for dealing with cell damage
Have adrenaline which allows them to temporarily ignore injuries and perform abnormal feats of strength
Are persistence hunters built for economy of movement and capable of extreme levels of endurance
Exist in a very wide range of habitats and on a diverse diet
Are very hardy in general, able to survive massive injuries, lack of sleep, prolonged starvation, and intense environmental conditions if given proper care
The quintessential example of this dichotomy between strength and endurance is the Going Fishing incident in the book: Rocky is able to survive and move in G forces that are killing Grace and to physically wrestle off the chair crushing him, but he collapses from his injuries almost immediately after. Despite being injured himself Grace then carries his 400lb friend up a ladder, is badly burned returning him to his atmosphere, and then proceeds to get some basic medical care, hype himself up on pain meds and keep working (albeit rather badly, lol) while Rocky forcibly sleeps.
The TL:DR is that Eridians are harder to damage, but easier to kill. They're like an rpg character with high armor and low health. I think Rocky would consider Grace to be very delicate at first, only to be blown away by how deceptively tough his friend can be.
