Remember small and simple pleasures.
Paper altars
Little zentangle pages in my journal. I like how this type of art allows me not only to release stress but also to connect with my creativity, if sometimes for just a couple of minutes a day.
Art journal spread in progress.
PAINT RANT:
This spread was made using Liquitex’s acrylic gouache and Holbein’s acrylic gouache, which is my new favorite paint! It dries to a smooth and velvety finish, it applies super opaquely, and it is highly pigmented. Everything about Holbein’s acrylic gouache paints reaches beyond my expectations, minus their price.
The Holbein acrylic gouache is so expensive! They will never be the only paint I use, just because of how expensive they are. For the price, Golden’s matte acrylic paint series are almost as good. Unfortunately, neither Holbein’s acrylic gouache, nor Golden’s matte acrylic paint series stretch very far. I’ll definitely continue to use my Liquitex acrylic gouache because of this, even though it has more of a sheen and seemed less opaque than either of the other two brands.
Still though, this Holbein acrylic gouache genuinely makes painting a better experience.

I’ve been doing a lot more digital art than art journaling lately.
I’m posting it here:
Welcome! This is a blog of the things I make, including arts, crafts, and weird wacky stuff!
