I know, I know, the story’s ended, but I wanna go back to the beginning to where Solas sees this little Dalish “spy” who miraculously survived the explosion that tore the sky apart and think, Of all the peoples in all the lands, it had to be a Dalish.

And I wanna see a Lavellan who loves her people and her culture, warts and all. Who will not let a fellow elf talk down to her and the Dalish.

And I wanna watch the little things that make them slowly go “wait a minute, when did he/she get cute?” And I don’t just mean the one flirtation in Haven, because if Solas can be swayed by incessant flirting then—no, he won’t be swayed by *that*, he’s thousands of years old! He won’t get weak-kneed from the flirtations of a Dalish lass! Nor seduced easily by the flesh!

I want a Solas x Lavellan romance where Lavellan is a Dalish mage, a Keeper’s apprentice, a product of Thedas—no AUs, no “she knows the truth before Trespasser” plot twist, no “she’s also ancient” excuse, no MGiT foreknowledge. And I want him to fall pathetically in love with this child of the broken world--the world he and the evanuris broke. Because what could be a more bittersweet punishment than that? To be so consumed by this person who would not exist if it weren’t for your mistakes, and who would not exist for very long if you were to proceed with your plans?

Yeah, I want that story pls. Don’t jump to the part where they’re already in love. I wanna dissect their love story! I wanna see what he loves about Lavellan! And what things catch his feelings! I want to see how all those thousands of years do not prepare him for the love that will break and redeem him. 🥹🥺😫

Can't help but respect how much of a hater Sephiroth is. He got caught lacking by a random blond teen one time, and has never gotten over it. In Advent Children, Cloud is a grown man struggling with his trauma, relationship, and business. Meanwhile, Sephiroth is still absolutely seething about how Cloud yeeted him into a pool of mako.

I don't know if this is a hot take or not but her death didn't hit as hard as the original in Rebirth, HOWEVER, what did hit more is Cloud's descending sanity saga officially kicking off with him hallucinating Aerith so hard he isn't even processing the truth of what happened. He's coping so hard. There's nothing he could've done. And its only going to get worse and worse until he's in that wheelchair and we get the Tifa mind palace scene.

I've been thinking about this. He sees in the sky the tear as well from that dying world right, does that mean the world is dying or that he's stuck between. Is the level of cope, so he is just having a breakdown, or maybe he's connected to it all because his choices change fate. Every time something changed, he was actively involved in it.

So the real question is it a deeper connection or a serious mental issue similar to the original. We've been given trickles of possible reality that aerith knew what was going to happen.

If sephiroth wanted to change the events, why still kill aerith, would that not reset the timeline to its original path. Him doomed to fail.

So much discussion to be had.
