Fun fact, I had thoughts about it yesterday x) Lysatra!Thranto, with Eli suffering from PTSD

- They could have gone to any other place, but Thrawn believed Eli's own home would be comforting and soothing in its familiarity

- Thrawn has done a major research on how to treat and help recover those who suffer from PTSD

- We don't have psychotherapy in Star Wars universe, but we can look through records of those who suffered through the same symptoms

- As well as Thrawn's own experience

- Eli has nightmares. His sleep schedule is a mess, and Thrawn makes sure to be extra quiet when Eli makes up for the lack of sleep at night in the middle of the day

- Of course, Thrawn comforts Eli whenever he is troubled or panicked by another nightmare. I believe Thrawn had nightmares, and knows well just how needed a familiar touch and reassuring words can be

- Eli felt like a burden, getting Thrawn to leave the Navy because of him. And they solve it like two loving grown-up people

- Something good happened too: Eli wanted to show Thrawn his own homeworld. Eli didn't expect Thrawn would want to stay.

Some random thoughts I had about this kind of stuff before I actually draw something.

never forget that izzy hands is funny. he's fucking hilarious. he's funny when he's having a breakdown and he's funny when he's a bad guy and he's funny when he's trying to be smooth. don't let the nonsense stop you from enjoying the parts of him that are enjoyable!!!!! he's a pathetic, sad, funny little dweeb!

I hate how all the discourse around him makes it hard to appreciate his funny moments, because he really is a funny character!

My top Izzy hilarious moments:

Of course, crawling away after his leg snaps going "you're born alone you die alone," absolute wet cat behavior

Yelling at the unicorn figurehead

How Con's acting choice for "Izzy crying" was "stare blankly and whimper loudly"

When he tries to be cool in s2e5 but he ends up saying shit like "a curse is a curse...and when it takes hold...it takes hold?" and "we gotta get out of here, it reeks of...dead priests"

complaining at length to Spanish Jackie in s1 while she looks entirely fed up with his nonsense. "then bonnet comes along and he's like, ooh, blackbeard, i love your hair, your beard, and all that" lives in my head.

The whole "ooh daddy" thing and how it's both completely baffling and absolutely integral to his character

The way he doesn't even fucking try to catch the sandwich Roach throws at his head

I never see anyone mention this one but I absolutely love how when Stede challenges Zheng to a fight in s2e7 you can hear Izzy go "oh Bonnet no" in the most distressed voice ever

He was a fucking nightmare. What a guy
