Another reason I love Emmett and Bella as each other’s ride-or-die siblings is they’re the two Cullens who actively enjoy vampirism. Rose and Edward resent it. Jasper, Esme, and Carlisle make do. Alice doesn’t mind it, she maybe even likes it, but it’s not quite the same since it’s all she’s ever known

Emmett and Bella have that joie de vivre (despite, y’know, a distinct lack of vivre). They are the ones experimenting with bowstring materials to see how fast they can get arrows to fly with their crazy strength, and taking any excuse to wear stupid plastic vampire fangs like it’s the funniest thing ever (it is). Now that Bella has decent proprioception, she resents throwing sports games in gym class every bit as much as Emmett does.

The other funny thing I just realized about the Tent Scene is that Mike Newton's family owned the outdoor gear store.
