For most of my teen years I missed out on a lot of good media

(because I watched a bunch of youtuber slop)

This year I'm changing that by going through everything I should've seen by now: the best and worst media out there, and documenting the whole thing here and on my Twitter. This'll be fun

Starting off, I picked AIM FOR THE TOP! GUNBUSTER

This was a really fun watch from start to finish! The story is pretty creative and resonant despite being pretty simple, and the animation and art style kicks ass. You can't go wrong with this, I feel.

The story was sweet. It has some genuine messages that are more resonant nowadays than ever before, since more people are interested in doing something with themselves nowadays. The characters are also really fun and they have some fun chemistry. They get too slap-happy though.

The animation fucking rules. The art style is a little more realistic and detailed than your average cutsey style of the time, and it uses it to it's advantage almost the entire time. Everything is pushed to look as lively and appealing as possible, down to facial expressions.

Overall, this was very fun to watch from start to finish. I had a great time!
