Tangent from my Arrancar masks collection…. I hadn’t realized that UNMASKED seems to have been somehow scrubbed clean off the internet.  I used to have scans on an older computer but those are long gone.  It took surprisingly long to dig a copy back up…

Anyway, point being: There was this one illustration Kubo did specifically for the character book that was all the Espada mask shards in a pile together.  This is, as far i know, the only time Kubo directly identified Zommari Rureaux’s as his skull and crossbone earrings.  Which still strikes me as a bizarre choice when Zommari specifically has a bone necklace that seemed to include teeth that I would’ve expected to be his mask pieces instead.

Like, what was his hollow mask supposed to have looked like, that breaking it left behind two tiny, fully intact skulls and cross bones???
