character sheet commission for @thecoffeerain of Baz the bugbear, what a sweetheart!! 🐛🐻
✨commission info in source link below✨
Had to delete the post bc of the sheer amount of porn bots in my notes- I thought I’d drop this here for people to read, because people were arguing in the notes about whether the 5e handbook was better in regards to racialized stereotypes (ESPECIALLY ORCS). If anyone has any interest in learning more about that, I’m recommending this:
Orcs, Britons, and the Martial Race Myth by James Mendez Hodes
I’m pretty sure that as far as “infuriating helmets you’d hate to see before you get stabbed” go, this one is definitely up there
Graduation Gunners: do u feel silly now that the finale was so bad
re-listening to the moonstone saga and really feeling the positive reinforcement
Pirate Coat Beau is best Beau
I mean Critrole is a mess too don’t get me wrong but at least Matt Mercer lets his players... checks notes... play the game

I talk a lot about how shit like NADDPOD and Dimension 20 taught me to be a better DM but when it comes to being a player I truly do not owe anyone as much as I owe Justin McElroy for demonstrating that sometimes you can look your DM dead in the eye and say “my canon now” while gently but firmly tugging the steering wheel out of their hand
when we played Waterdeep the party had to come running to save my rogue’s silly ass from an assassin, and while we were all hiding in my neighbors’ house I asked the DM who lived there and he said “a gnome, a member of the tinkerers’ guild. he has a cat named Rusty” and I said great cool thank you, and then in my character voice I said, “okay guys, great news. I catsit for this guy sometimes, and it turns out the tinkerers’ guild have secret tunnels all over the city to connect their workshops, so we can get out of here without the assassin even knowing.”
and after a long silence our kind and benevolent DM says “… I’ll allow it.”
I guess actually on that front Griffin McElroy also taught me something very important about DM’ing, which is that when your players pull out something extremely cool and fun they deserve to be rewarded with a “yes, and.”
When preparing for a D&D game in general, and every session of it, a DM must make sure to keep the inevitable party mascot characters in line.
The obscene amount of porn blogs liking my post is something for sure
Pornman2405.... Leave me alone. What do you want from me. I bet you don’t even like half orcs.

💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Cuff of Captions Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement) ___
While wearing this platinum ear cuff, any audible sound or spoken language that you’re within earshot of is magically transcribed, appearing as unobtrusive, illusory text that only you can see in the corner of your vision. While wearing the cuff, you gain a +2 bonus to Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing, even if you’re deafened, as you can sometimes read the transcriptions of sounds that are otherwise inaudible. The transcriptions are written in Common, and vary in size and form depending on the nature of the sound. The text conveys the literal meaning of any spoken language that it transcribes, but can suggest similar Common idioms in place of the ones it translates from other languages. You can choose to ignore certain sounds and transcriptions, causing the text to vanish, in order to better focus on the ones you’re interested in. ___
