A Thing to remember while I work on Drafts in between other things, is that the Sidhe are actually a long-standing war-driven race. Outside of their career military and navy, they’re perfectly capable of living what constitutes as normal lives and being good to people who mean them little harm, but as soon as their warlord/Imperial orders the drums to beat, it’s all over and their latent bloodthirst breaks the surface and everyone will grab whatever’s at hand and go shrieking to the boats. The change is that sudden and it’s scary to think about, especially when there are no wardrums to signify the initial charge and they’re just defending themselves.

There’s a reason they need no policing authority on the islands, and that’s because at the end of the day, they are the policing authority.
