A quick review of Season 5 of *The Bear*ā¦ And honestly, I liked this final season more than I thought I would. I would have liked to see a lot more, though. I was left with a somewhat bitter taste at the end because I still feel like I didnāt get enough of these characters. But it was still a great final season and a good last episode. But could have been better imo. Iām not that satisfied with the individual arc of Carmy and Sydney for example.
But when I think back on the things they didnāt do, and Iām actually very glad about that season:
ā¢ Like making Carmy and Claire an āEndgameā couple. And in the end, she was only briefly present as a family friend during the final scene.
ā¢ Or like pairing Sydney and Luca together. I never understood that idea people had at all. But I guess it was to make up for the lack of Sydcarmy, too. But even the anti-Sydcarmy crowd liked that ship, soā¦
ā¢ Iām also glad they didnāt make Luca the head of the restaurant, Iām referring to that awful Elle article that suggested itā¦ Cause wtf Sydney was right here!!!! And Carmy wanted to be Sydney too. Anyway fuck that article again.
As for the things we got that Iām happy about:
ā¢ More scenes between the restaurant characters. I love that we spent so much, and almost all of our time in the restaurant because of the seasonās format. However, that also deprived me of things I would have loved to see and that Iāll never get to see. Like Sydney, Carmy, and the others hanging out together outside the restaurant and having conversations that arenāt exclusively about work for once. I am mourning this for real. Especially about Sydney who struggled a lot with that. She was too focus on that job for so long. I wanted to see her making some fun stuff I guess. She had fun in the restaurant thatās good too but anywayā¦
ā¢ Iām really happy with how Sydcarmyās story was handled. Honestly, they came from really far, even though I personally liked Seasons 3 and 4, especially Season 4 when it came to Sydcarmy. And how can I put this: my expectations for them probably werenāt that high to begin with, so I was very pleasantly surprised by all the scenes they shared. Most of them were very intimate. Setting aside the possibility of a romance between them for a second, itās just a beautiful relationship, thereās no denying it. Who knows what the future holds for them. I choose to believe thereās some truth behind that Donna/Pete scene. Listen, that family had a pattern of caring too much about Carmyās love life, some of them clearly had a vision for Sydcarmy, I think Nat LOVES Sydney and would be just so happy to have her as sister in law š Sorry I can clearly see it. Anyway gonna rant about that in another post about Sydcarmy only.
