i understand the point of this post, but i think until we have better language for it, defining people who were born with vaginas as 'AFAB' and people who were born with penises as 'AMAB' is useful for medical purposes. if a medical condition affects me differently because of what genitalia i have, its important to know what to expect. like yeah it sucks and i hate it too but we dont rly have a better way of doing it yet

These are not dirty words, if doctors can say them, so can you!

There are people AMAB or AFAB who've gotten bottom surgery. There are people AFAB who have natural testes. There are people AMAB with uteruses. There are people AFAB who were reassigned male. There are people AMAB with XX chromosomes. There are people AFAB with XY chromosomes. There are people AMAB who developed breasts at puberty. There are people AFAB who developed penises at puberty.

Stop fucking ignoring the existence of intersex people. Stop ignoring the fact that your biological sex can be changed.

the amount of work i've had to do to try and separate out what was gender dysphoria and what was just bone-deep discomfort living in a world that i know hates my fat body is insane. even/especially if you yourself are fat, you have a very basic responsibility to acknowledge and try to reckon with your shit and to keep your insecurities from infecting and harming vulnerable people. nobody is coming to save us! stop fucking promising trans people that an ED will make them love themselves more -- it will not!
