i guess DNI lists do work in the sense that sometimes i see a user with a DNI full of so many crazy specific discourse topics and opinions that i immediately think "this person is extremely exhausting to be around and/or fourteen years old" and lose all desire to follow them. so like. it did its job. in a way.

you don't get to make fun of israelis playing the victim and then act like you're not doing the same thing when you engage in intellectual dishonesty whenever you're being confronted with uncomfortable truths about your status, and how the relative comfort you experience rests upon the exploitation of the global south.

wisen up and stop treating the idea that you do have privilege from being an impcorer despite the marginalization you might experience as a sin instead of a simply put, a fact.

if you refuse to fully examine your objective position as an impcorer and resort to self-victimization instead, then you're not acting in solidarity with imperialized countries and the workers living there. simply put, you're just a chauvinist in denial who wants to look "progressive" and save face as resentment towards the west for its impunity intensifies.

A lot of people who defend their decisions to join the US military—or believe that those who join the military are victims—genuinely seem to think that the poor conditions they suffer under (poverty, homelessness, lack of income) are conditions exclusive to the US; things that no one else could possibly understand.

Because if they were to realize (if we’re giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming that this is genuine ignorance) that people all across the globe have these issues in their respective countries and communities—sometimes even thriving despite it!—that would force them to confront the fact there is no excuse for choosing to join the murder machine that kills and displaces thousands of people every year.

lots of united states citizens of any minority group dont seem actually and seriously opposed to what their empire does to the rest of the world they mainly seem upset that they don't get to benefit from it as much as their white, cisgender, male etc counterparts . which is obvious . but how can you be genuinely against what it does to indigenous americans and minorities inside its borders if you can't be principled about what it does globally to the rest of us ? like you pretend to be ? when it comes to the rest of us they dont even pretend i mean lol

conversations of amatonormativity and consent overlap a lot and should be discussed side by side more frequently. because when you live in a society that teaches you that you’re supposed to want sex and romance, that you may want to say no in the moment but you shouldn’t say no forever, any statements about consent get muddied. you cannot at once preach that consent is vital and “you can always say no” and also insist that people should give sex and romance a try, even when they express disinterest, telling them “eventually you’ll find the right person.”

Okay, I love everything about this hall of mirrors:

Traditional mirror mazes are dark and creepy. This one is brightly lit, and colorful.

The triangular grid makes it that much more disorienting.

The pillars help to obscure the difference between the mirrors and the openings -- so it doesn't NEED to be dark.

All of this combines to make it much more fun and entertaining and much less "I gotta get out of here before Mr. Dark drags me off to the soul-sucking carousel".
