I will love you with no regard to the actions of our enemies or the jealousies of actors. […] I will love you if I never see you again, and I will love you if I see you every Tuesday. ~Lemony Snicket

Just because everything’s changing Doesn’t mean it’s never been this way before All you can do is try to know who your friends are As you head off to the war
Blame @walburgablack for this.
Consort Jing is my favourite character in Nirvana in Fire. Such an admirable and “strong” character. She appeared soft and weak, but I thought she is a great example of the kind of character with the personality, mind and heart of “water”; extremely wise, patient but with backbones of steel, intelligent, belied by a quiet, gentle and unassuming demeanour. Well, there are many characters to love in NiF, one of the many reasons which made it such an amazing show❣️
Bowled over by her presence in the show 🤩😍
Stolen from you! [x]
[ID: Six wide gifs from Nirvana in Fire with overlaid text. In the first, Grand Princess Liyang walks into a candlelit hall between two lines of dancers wearing red. Text reads: “May the sound of our voices ring out.” In the second, Liyang faces the camera holding up a folded piece of paper. She is speaking but there are no captions. Text reads: “With a song of great delight.” In the third, a group of officials wearing burgundy robes hurry in from the sides to kneel down in several rows. Text reads: “A cheer, loud & clear.” In the fourth, the Emperor wears black and gold robes with hair in disarray. He breathes out and looks away in shock. Text reads: “The last thing in your ears.” In the fifth, the Emperor walks between two rows of bowing officials. His hair pinned up in a braid with a small gold ornament. Text reads: “As you hear what you stole.” In the sixth, Mei Changsu is shown in profile wearing tan and mustard yellow robes. The Emperor walks in front of him, followed by Prince Ji. Text reads: “Has been stolen from you.”
The caption reads: “Stolen from you!” / end ID]
100% Reason to Remember the Name: Mu Nihuang
obsessed with Qin Banruo’s character design!
I’ve really gotten old. The more distant the memories, the more I can’t help but think of them.
这人呢,真是老了。越是久远的事情,越忍不住地要想起来。

speaking of xia dong, do you know why all the member of xuanjing bureau have xia in their names? is that a family name they all took on because it's their shifu's name? or is it a title?
hello darling <3
xia jiang had all his disciples take his last name. i am not culturally versed enough to say whether that is standard procedure.
but what is a bit wild is that he not only gave them his last name but their full names and while he is called 夏江 (summer river), his disciples are called
夏春 (xia chun) = summer spring, 夏秋 (xia qiu) = summer autumn and 夏冬 (xia dong) = summer winter
there is only 夏夏 (xia xia) = summer summer missing. i think there was some funny short fic about the bureau finding their last member.
i’ll update the post when I find it!
Folks looking for the absolutely hysterical 夏夏 sorta-fics by @smiting-finger, you can find them here:

(It’s helpful to have Google Translate or similar on hand for these if you don’t read Chinese).
