╳ SEBASTIAN.

“There’s nothing wrong in hanging out with a friend or there’s nothing wrong in hanging out with me?” Sebastian asked, feeling like it was that particular detail that had Blaine on edge that day. He left his seat in front of Blaine to move to the one beside him, lowering his voice down to a whisper as he met his gaze. “I’d have more of those smiles, please. Seeing you frown is too depressing… But, a croissant would be nice-”

“        neither?” he knew it was wrong, and still he just... went with the flow. He wasn’t going to cheat on Kurt, but he craved Sebastian’s attention so much it was starting to feel like he was betraying his boyfriend in some way. 

“CRONUT. I’ll definitely have a cronut.”

╳ SEBASTIAN.

“Oh, Blaine”, Sebastian prompted with a condescending yet warm tone, his emerald gaze locked on the other’s. “I’m whatever you want me to be. So yeah, you can call me your friend”. A long sip from his coffee and a smile flashed in his direction. If befriending the other was the one thing necessary to get in his pants…

“We’re just friends hanging out. There’s nothing wrong in that, right?” But he knew it wasn’t like that. Sebastian wanted more than just a friendship with him, and even when he didn’t flirt back, Blaine did nothing to stop him from flirting with him. It was... nice to feel important, wanted. “      What are you having?” he smiled then, leaning in forward with his elbows on the table. “I’d recommend something from the pastry menu”

“What kind of world is it I a guy can’t randomly run into the hottest man in Ohio and buy him dinner? I’m not really worried about whatever idea they get from it-”

“I     uhm... You’re right. I’m sorry, I’m just... paranoic. Besides it’s not like we’re on a date, right? I mean, I have a boyfriend, and you... You’re my friend” The reason behind his paranoia was that he hadn’t told Kurt anything about hanging out with the warbler... yet.

     “ Shall we start making the Christmas cookies       or should we pause momentarily to acknowledge       that I may have hung some mistletoe above where       we’re seated right now. “

“It might be a little too late for that now. I was too  excited and the cookies are already in the oven.       But do you know what that means? More time for us to ‘acknowledge’ we’re under a mistletoe”

╳ SEBASTIAN.

His emerald gaze locked on the other as he gracefully returned for the spiked coffee, claiming it as his own. Of course, Sebastian didn’t mind in the slightest. He had been known to be quite permissive with the guys he liked, and he really liked Blaine. “It’s just a latte with gin, really”, he confessed, still unable to drop his habit of spiking his drinks. 

“I suggest you drink it all, it works wonders when you’re having a bad day”. He made sure to flash a friendly smile, opening the door for Blaine to walk out first. It didn’t matter how much of an asshole he was, Sebastian was more than capable of behaving like a prince charming.

He was taking a second sip when he heard what that mysterious flavor was. His eyes went up to meet Sebastian’s as he swallowed the spiked coffee, licking his lips after. “Gin? As in...      Gin?” Blaine made a brief pause and, when they walked near the trash can, he threw the half-empty cup of coffee into it. 

“Who needs coffee when we’re having tempura ice cream, anyway?” the former warbler chuckled, looking over to his friend. “      which, by the way, it’s pretty crazy. How do they even make them?”

╳ KURT.

❛ there really should be a general directory stationed at every wing of this school. i mean, you’d think an academy the size of the mall would at least provide a map with arrows that clearly say [ YOU ARE HERE ]. — but maybe that’s just me being bitter because i’ve gotten lost three times today, and embarrassingly enough, two of those times were me trying to find the same classroom. ❜

“Uhm, Kurt       you’re being a little bit too dramatic, don’t you think? Dalton’s not really that big and it’d really be an exaggeration. But, okay, I get it. I felt exactly like that when I just got here. 

BUT... I also happen to know of a certain someone who knows his way around here and would love to give you a tour.”

╳ SEBASTIAN.

“Now, that’s more like it”, he encouraged Blaine as soon as he saw that smile. It was a relief, to know he was still capable of them. Sebastian didn’t need any more indication, and leaving half of his coffee intact, he stood up and fixed his tie before smiling towards Blaine, this time in a more kind and less wicked way. “Tempura ice cream it is”, he nodded, starting to walk towards the exit. “And maybe, if you behave, I’ll even let you come with me to the GAP. I need to buy some socks.”

Keeping that bright smile on his face, he started walking next to the other. It was nice having someone around that wanted to make him feel better. He believed in people; he believed that Smythe wasn’t doing that just to get into his pants, and he believed that, despite what everyone else says, Sebastian’s not a bad person.  “wait!     wait, wait, wait” He backed up about 5 paces to take the to-go coffe his friend had left on the table, giving it a sip as he walked towards him again. “I still want another coffee, and this does the tr    ”

╳ SEBASTIAN.

He wasn’t stupid, so he noticed how uncomfortable he was making Blaine. Truth be told, he never thought Kurt’s absence was being so hard on him. Maybe he should give the poor hobbit a break and act like the friend he said he was. “Blaine-” Sebastian called, taking his arm gently when the other stood up. “Forget the coffee. There’s this place two blocks from here that serves the best tempura ice cream you’ll ever taste. Come with me, I promise to keep it friendly and PG.” His voice was soft, even warm. While his main goal was still to get in his pants, it wasn’t all a lie. Sebastian cared, and he didn’t care just about anybody.

He slowly started walking towards the baristas, but he stopped right after Sebastian’s hand grabbed his arm; he shivered at the touch. Blaine’s lips slowly curved into a smile worthy of a magazine cover, for it feels pretty good to have someone looking out for him. He was in desperate need of a friend. “     Tempura ice cream would be nice” he confessed, taking a step back to get a better look at his friend.

╳ SEBASTIAN.

“Should I make you feel better or should I say what I really think about the whole situation?” he wondered aloud, taking another sip of his coffee as he tried to decide whether or not he should push him past the breaking point; but it really didn’t matter how hard he wanted Blaine, the thought of causing him even more pain didn’t sound as appealing. “So”, he started, deciding to take it easy on him, “there’s a party this weekend at Nick’s. Welcoming the new school year or something cheesy like that. You should come, hang out with old friends, get your mind off fugly porcelain things…”

“I, uhm, I     I don’t know”, he started, looking down and anxiously tapping the floor with his right foot. “I really don’t feel like partying. I admit it would be nice to see the guys all reunited again, but... I don’t know” he shrugged, again. He was starting to feel uncomfortable. Maybe it was all the passive aggressiveness towards his boyfriend, or maybe the fact that his boyfriend hadn’t replied his texts since yesterday, and talking about him was a reminder of how left out he felt. “Do you want more coffee? My treat. I ran out of mine like twenty minutes ago” he said as he stood up from his chair.

Jackpot. The distance actually was weighing down on him just like he thought it would. It was the perfect time to strike, but he decided to be subtle about as he took a sip of his spiked coffee. “News flash, Blaine: taking a compliment from me is not cheating-”

“But it’s okay. If I had a worn out porcelain doll for a boyfriend I would want to cheat too.”

“It’s not like that, Seb. I don’t want to cheat on Kurt. I love him... I really do. It’s just     ” Blaine sighed and shook his head. There were too many thoughts in his head to even come up with something. He didn’t want to cheat on Kurt, but he did feel alone. “And he’s not a worn out porcelain doll”

“Moving on…” he gestured with his hand, making it quite evident he didn’t believe one word. “I’m afraid you’ve misunderstood me, killer. I don’t get tired of reminding you how hot you are. What I get tired of is the ‘sorry, Sebastian, I have a boyfriend’ bullshit we always go back to.”

“Okay, that’s because I do have a boyfriend and I respect him. Respect is the key to a successful relationship” Blaine explained, letting himself be carried along with the conversation. “Even…”

“     well, even when he’s miles away” 468. 468 miles. He had looked it up on the internet.
