Enigma took a moment out of their day just to watch Vivi running around with her decorations… and decided it was now time. They got up from behind the register counter, disappeared behind the back door office, and returned with a glass of eggnog and ornament earrings in their ears.

“Only snowflakes so far, Vivi?”

Vivi nodded and smiled, turning to grab another from on top of a bookcase. 

“For the moment. I have some garlands to hang off the glass cases and I’m thinking of putting up the mini tree soon. And holly, holly everywhere.” She gingerly threaded the intricate snowflake. None of them seemed simple if you looked at them.

“I dunno why, but feeling more compelled this year. Like I have to make up for how little I did last year.” She went a little blank at the end of the statement. She shook her head and smiled again.

“I’m thinking of having Lew be Santa for the reading corner this year!”

“Don’t worry yourself about what you didn’t do last year. As I recall I was rather vacant as well.” Damning words, but so far they were still safe. She certainly wasn’t marching their way with decorations with ill-intent so far.

They were trying to appear as nonchalant as possible, but really they were wishing they’d hid something strong to add to this non-alcoholic ‘nog. This was gonna be an interesting holiday season. At least black friday had already passed.

“.... If Lewis wants to, he’s more than welcome to do so. I remember him being able to handle children well.”
