They say "scuze!", which means sorry, even if it's your fault, because it's the polite thing to do.
But also it is a pickpocketing technique. Check your valuables before asking his ethnicity, maybe.

hi this drives me crazy
canon is what happens in the text. e.g. merlin tries to poison morgana
a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.
an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.
fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.
these are all different words with different meanings.
and a cannon is a large mounted gun, usually on wheels, that uses explosives to fire projectiles.

Yellow and red cards are a good system of penalization in football but I also think there should be a green card, which you get if you do something nice during a match, like give an opposing player a lil smooch on the forehead.
Maybe the most damming thing about Nolans odyssey is i haven’t seen a single gifset from it
Why do kiwis have such massive fucking eggs “it’s because they are related to ostriches and-“ yeah ok but like why didn’t they evolve smaller eggs if I was in charge I would do that shit pronto. Thoughts?
their big eggs are actually that size for a similar reason to human babies having massive heads!! being bigger at birth can be important.
kiwi are trying SO HARD to become mammals. fur-like feathers, whisker-like feathers, little beady eyes, nocturnal, great sense of smell.... that's basically a mammal!! they're well suited for life on the forest floor.
their big eggs work alongside these adaptations to give them a leg up in the bird world. their young hatch already feathered! they're precocial, which means they're born with the ability to open their eyes and move around. like foals.
big egg = more powerful offspring from the get-go. babies don't need to spend precious time vulnerable while they develop on the ground when they've already done all that in the egg!
(unfortunately, with the introduction of mammals to aotearoa, these adaptations are a little less useful...)
Important addition: baby kiwi come out of the egg looking like they've come out of a shower with a hangover
They look like one of the downsides of emerging from an egg fully formed is how aware you are off just having come out on egg. First minute alive, already dealing with some fucking experience.
I hate change, I’m scared of change, I need something big in my life to change soon or else I’ll go crazy
its funny to me how warmups for instruments generally sound nice and pretty. like just basic scales or chords. the exercises i do on my guitar could be mistaken for actual music at times.
and then vocal warmups are shit like. bark like a seal. grunt like a thwomp from mario 64. now sing the melody but instead of the lyrics youre saying 'moo moo mee mee mah mah' even the scales you gotta moo mee mah through that shit and its just so goofy every time. and this is why im not a singer
don’t make other people’s decisions for them. apply for the job you don’t think you’ll get. let them decide if you have the skills they’re looking for. tell that person you like them even though you think they’re out of your league. let them decide if they like you. stop trying to predict and control everything. bring what you have to the table. let the rest go.
breaking news! new beautiful photo of the best species of frog in the world just dropped

for everyone in the notes lamenting that this guy is poisonous: they are not! they're just pretty :) since they're a glass frog, their major defense mechanism is being translucent and hiding their blood while they sleep so they look extra translucent and blend in with leaves <3
they put ~90% of their red blood cells in their livers while they sleep :) so they look extra translucent and leafish
Hi! I just wanna tell you guys that your account gives me life!! I visited the Aquarium with my parents in 2016 when we were on vacation (travelled all the way from Germany) and I had a wonderful time!! I love having your posts pop up here, and seeing how diverse and inclusive you are really gives me hope during these strange times! So thank you!!!
Also - my favourite animal (aside from every whale to exist, ever) is the horn shark, got any fun facts about it? :)
Thank you for your visit and ongoing support! Horn sharks have some pretty cool eggs! They are corkscrew shaped. This shape makes it possible for them to be wedged into crevices in the reef so that they don't float away—pretty cool!
Hello! A five year old friend of mine recently visited your aquarium, and after discussing his visit we have questions for you!
How big are kelp crabs? He says they hide in kelp from predators — which predators? What do they eat? What is their life cycle like? Are there any other fun kelp crabs facts you can share?
Thank you so much for working to have an aquarium that reflects the whole ecosystem, and not just charismatic fauna (although the kelp crab now has at least two more people who think it’s charismatic).
Hi! Kelp crabs are definitely charismatic in their own way :)
Most kelp crabs don't get too big—maybe the size of an adult hand. They mainly eat algae, but they also supplement their diet with other invertebrates like mussels, barnacles, bryozoans, etc—especially when algae cover decreases in the winter.
Sea otters love to eat them! So do seabirds like gulls and some fish. One fun fact is kelp crabs, like other crabs, start their lives as tiny, free-swimming larvae.
Welcome to the kelp crab fan club! 🦀
