Bolin looked to Nanami as she seemed to blink her way out of some coma, he could of swore she was falling asleep on him but that must of been his imagination. The stocky teenager gave a cheeky grin to the short little gaming creature. Bolin was happy that he at least got to see a pro in action before he even attempted.
Bolin scratched his cheek as she spoke and mumbled out, “W-well if you think so…”
Bo walked up to the machine but kept his eye on Nanami who still seemed on the verge of sleeping. He winked at her and deposited his money into the machine. After taking a few brief moments to pick out a fighter that looked as close to him as possible he managed to understand at least which button made him move.
“FIGHT” The game yelled at him.
Bolin took several moments to figure out even how to punch. As far as he could tell he was winning for a few moments. The wide shouldered kid made alot of his own grunting and sound effects as he fought against the little pixelated enemy. He grinned as he got in a nice uppercut, but his jaw nearly dropped as his opponent managed to shoot some type of energy blast at him finishing him in one shot.
“D-Damnit!” Bolin said a little annoyed at losing. He sighed but smiled looking over to his new friend. “I guess even a video game can get me worked up” He said rubbing the back of his head.
She hoped that he didn't think she was falling asleep because of him - oh, goodness no. She didn't want to lose the first friend that she made here, therefore, she tried her hardest to stay awake, even if she yawned every now and then, and blinked dozily. She turned her attention towards the video game screen, watching as the martial artist now took his turn at playing the game. At least that would keep her awake until they departed.
Once the game had spoken and he began to fight, a small grin came upon the girl's lips, amused at his novicehood. Whilst she, by no means, was one to brag about her ability, seeing beginners in the gaming universe was cute. It almost was like seeing a toddler take their first steps, and akin to that prideful moment, Nanami seemed proud of Bolin playing his first game.
The smile left for a moment, however, as his opponent had defeated him; the expression on her face was one of shock, and she watched as he now flew into a fit of frustration, flinching visibly, but soon settled once she saw him smile again. She outstretched her hand and placed it on his shoulder, patting him comfortably.
"It's alright, Bolin-kun. It's your first time playing, after all..." she murmured softly, a faint laugh leaving her lips. "I didn't become as skilled as I am overnight, so I understand your annoyance in losing..." She then turned to the game screen once again, analysing what she remembered of her friend's opponent to come up with a strategy.
"There's a brief moment of opportunity in order to escape his blast. Look for that, and you'll be sure to defeat him. You should watch him for any habits or gestures, because that's when you'll know what attack he's planning next and when to dodge. Please try again, I believe you can do it this time."
