Please donât go out to the Emoji Movie âironicallyâ and then wonder how they actually got money to do a second one despite the first being a critical failure.
your friendly neighbourhood film student here! this is very much a thing. financial gain is a primary goal for studios. you can love a film or hate it but a ticket sale still gives them money and essentially says âmake more of this product!â itâs why the bayformers franchise is still a thing and why other franchises keep getting uneeded reboots and sequels. if it makes money, studios will make more of that product.
for the love of god if you want to watch this ironically, wait for a shitty camrip or torrent. donât give sony money for this. if the emoji movie is financially succesful, weâll receive more products like it.
Thanks friendly neighbourhood film student for giving us all an incredibly basic economics lesson but longer and worse
