Confession: I prefer libraries to bookstores. My mom would bring me to the library every few days when I was little. I would borrow so many books that my receipts would be the length of my arm. Any upper body strength I have can be accredited to the years of toting around piles of heavy books. . Now, even though I’m obsessed with bookstores, my affinity for the library still hasn’t faded. I guess my wallet can thank me for borrowing most of my books instead of buying them 😂 . I like to save all my receipts from the books I borrow, and I store them in my #bulletjournal. I had such a book hangover after reading this one. I am about three quarters of the way through the first draft of my novel, and it is slow going. My biggest struggle as a creative is the niggling self doubt that worms holes into my productivity. I am constantly thinking of my characters, but when it comes to drafting, I have been procrastinating. - I’m a planner, so the beats have all been figured out... it’s just that little voice telling me my output isn’t good enough. I’m the kind of person who can’t just dash out a messy first draft. Even when I do NaNo, I feel the need to craft my prose to a state of semi-tidiness. But (say it out loud for the people in the back!) a first draft is NOT perfect!
