I’ve been playing New Leaf again lately, and I decided to design a little mural for my town of Melodale!

Here’s what it looks like in-game, with Isabelle herself celebrating its completion. Thulinma’s Pattern Tool was a huge help in bringing the many pattern tiles needed to piece this together into my town, so thank you for creating that and sparing me many a pixel-related headache!

An Irish Wolfhound I drew for a Secret Santa! I usually draw everything in SAI and use Photoshop for colour-correction, but here I challenged myself to work entirely in PS. I still find SAI much more comfortable for sketching and lineart, but I do love how nice and textural PS’ brushes can be!

Here’s some Christmas gift fanart I drew for the wonderful @moolallingtonsartblog, in which her yukki-onna and travelling pilgrim characters share some festive smooches! It depicts a tragedy-free AU, where the yuki-onna found a way to free herself from the curse of her killer kisses.

Here’s some movie-poster fanart of @moolallingtonsartblog ‘s super lovely characters - Rosalind, Molly, and Clonan! I had so much fun drawing this, hyper-evolved anthropomorphic sheep nips ‘n all. A-also, pardon my really painful tag-line… at least I didn’t add “COMING TO CINEMAS (UNGU)LATER THIS YEAR” like I originally planned. :3

I spent the past week learning how to rig in Maya, and now I’ve finally completed my first character - Wizcca the Pawrcerer! She’s a friendly feline witch who likes to fly around on her broomstick and enchant balls of yarn for herself to chase. Here’s a little walk cycle to put her through her paces! Ahhh, I’m so happy to have created a character rig… it’s been a long-held dream of mine. :3

We were given an assignment in college recently where we had to choose an Irish painter and animate their work into something silly using After Effects - so, here's my version of a Harry Clarke illustration!

Also, here's a close-up! I played around with some texture and fringe settings to try to achieve a watercolour effect in SAI, and I like how that worked out… I might try using it more often!

After Effects is fuuun! We're learning to use it in college at the moment and I really like how you can give hand-drawn 2D backgrounds a sense of 3D, multiplane depth. Here's a bouncing ball assignment! :3
