Hiccstrid headcanon! (How clingy are they with eachother?)

Astrid always has her hands on Hiccup. I think Astrid would seek reassurance in the form of physical touch, this is something Hiccup wouldn’t know about her until their relationship started.

She’s used to being the “tough one” people do not think of her as an affectionate person. And she wants to maintain that image, so she doesn’t bother with correcting them.

But this means she’s really touch starved going into this relationship, and the moment Hiccup confirms “Yes, Astrid, you can touch me whenever you want.” She can’t stop herself. At first she just sorta hangs out near him, practically on his heels. Then her hands are brushing his, intertwining with his. Then, after the others find out about their relationship, she stops holding back.

She starts holding onto his upper arms whenever he happens to be in reach, she wraps her arms around his waist whenever she comes up behind him, she holds onto his shirt and drags him around with her. Hiccup is her emotional support stress ball.

How does Hiccup feel about this? He’s not AS clingy, but he has his moments, and I don’t think I have to tell you guys how touch starved he also is.

So he might groan playfully or halfheartedly try to pull away sometimes, but in reality he’s exactly where he wants to be.

Astrid will catch him leaning into her arm a little when he thinks no one is paying attention. In private he loves hands in his hair (why do you think he has those braids?) scalp scratches are his favorite. Hiccup often, coming home after a long day will just hang his head in front of Astrid so she can reach up and give him a little massage.

I love these TCP art works, they're so gorgeous Jude and cardan are literally how i imagined them, I can never imagine these characters as real people fcs like in book edits whenever I see real people being casted as Jude or cardan I just don't see it...I guess this is me saying I can only ever imagine TCP characters as drawn or animated characters. One of the many reasons why i would never want live action for these books, i would love an animated series instead though

Also at first I had not looked up the art work because I didn't wanna get spoiled so naturally I had a hard time imagining these characters but tell me why I was imagining madoc as hulk and shrek😭😭

Headcanon

Someone 100% at one point told Hiccup that if he really hates his name he could just go by nis middle name.

Hiccup: "I mean, Hiccup is literally what you call the runt."

"...Well, if you hate it so much, just go by your middle name instead."

"It's horrendous."

"Oh, please, it can't be that bad."

"No. My middle name is literally 'H-O-R-R-E-N-D-O-U-S'."

"...You know, Hiccup really isn't that awful."

I don't know if this was in the show or not or if I'm making that up but it feels like such a missed opportunity to include at one point because dude's middle name is Horrendous and his initials are 'H.H.H'. I mean, come one, the gnomes and trolls must hate that!

I have a physical need for Toothless to be around when Hiccup and Astrid start having kids. Because, like that's his baby too.

Toothless taking at least a week to understand that he really don't have to regurgitate fish for the baby. Another week for him to understand Astrid doesn't need it either.

Making him understand that he really shouldn't "bathe" the baby is an ongoing battle.

Toothless sleeping curled around the cradle. Gods help anyone apart from Hiccup and Astrid if they try to approach.

Once the baby is a little bigger, them and Toothless playing by passing a little ball back and forth on the floor.

Toothless seen carrying a toddler in his mouth around the village, with the people being totally non-plussed. "That's alright, kid just wandered too far away from the 'nest' for Toothless' liking."

A Plea from the Heart: I Am Fatima, and This Is My Story

His abdominal injuries are so severe that he can no longer work or even lift basic items. Every day, I see the pain in his eyes and feel the weight of helplessness, but I try to stay strong for him and for our children.

Our eldest, Manar, is four years old, and she’s missing out on her childhood amidst this devastation. Our youngest, Ibrahim, was born under bombardment just a year ago. He has suffered greatly due to the lack of milk and proper medical care. Yet, sometimes, he smiles, and in those brief moments, I find the strength to keep going.

We now live in a fragile tent that doesn’t shield us from the cold or rain. Every day is a new battle for survival. I write these words while holding my children’s hands, with nothing left but my faith in God and the hope that your kind hearts will hear our plea.

Please help us provide milk and food for our children, ease Akram’s pain, and rebuild even a small part of the life the war has destroyed. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a big difference in our lives.
