Jonathon Cade was NOT a shy little butterfly. he was good in rumbles, kept his mouth shut, and was loyal to his boys. he was only jumpy due to his beating from the socs. thank you for your time
Really old drawing I did back in 8th grade (I'm sophomore now). Maybe I should touch this up?

OKAY NO I NEED TO POINT OUT EVERYTHING WRONG WITH THIS BOOK
everything wrong with That Was Then, This is Now by equestrianlad
It being considered "a sequel" to The Outsiders. It literally had two or three characters mentioned or play a non important role and that's it. Nothing more.
The pacing. It's slow at first, and then at the end it seems rushed. PICK A CONSISTENT PACE.
The situation about Cathy. She seemed like an alright girl, and could have been a fan favorite! But no. At the end... no.
The fact that S.E. took her best character, Ponyboy Curtis from The Outsiders, and turned him into a girlfriend thief. He took Byron's girlfriend (or at least tried to) twice. That's just making him seem very unlikable. Nothing like in the first book.
M&M. He was the most likable character to me, and that's saying something because even he was a total twat sometimes.
THE FACT THAT ALL OF THE CHARACTERS WERE TOTAL TWATS.
The fact that the Socs and Greasers had supposedly stopped fighting. It seemed like a nice idea that they soon realized that what they were doing was wrong, but it just seemed like a total waste of writing.
The Shepard brothers. BIGGEST. DOUCHES. EVER.
Not a single mention of Sodapop or Darry. So much for it being a sequel to S.E.'s best book ever.
NOT A MENTION TO ANY GREASER OTHER THAN PONYBOY AND THAT'S IT. He may have been the main character of the last book, but COME ON. There were so many other likable characters too! Soda and Darry, of course, and Two-Bit and Steve, and Buck and Randy and Cherry and Marcia.... Hell, you could have even mentioned Dally and Johnny at least once, and they're dead!
this has been, everything wrong withThat Was Then, This is Now by equestrianlad
