AO3 IS IN TROUBLE IF CALIFORNIAN AGE VERIFICATION LAW PASSES

An upcoming Age verification bill centered in California will be voted on Monday-- And as always,instead of actually protecting kids, it will lead to more online censorship and privacy risks, as it will force websites hosting to verify their users age by sending their ID, your browser history would be linked to it. if you live California, call your reps and tell them to oppose the bill AB3080 as it highly unconstitutional.

They also deem LGBT content harmful to minors, as well as mentions of weapons and tobacco, putting them on the same level as NSFW content.

Since AO3 headquarters reside in California, much like Reddit, Twitter,Discord and Youtube (and others) who knows how bad the effects would be. Instead of just effecting Californians (even then its concerning.) the effects would be US or even worldwide. VPNs wont help.

Having put this off for a couple months, I think it's time I make this:

I have a ko-fi goal! A not-so-fun one, at that. I've only been running this blog around two years, and before it I've never had such a large audience for my art. Sharing both fanart and original works alike has been a delight! But the thing is, I've been sick the entire time I've been doing it.

I'm sure mutuals and people who've been watching my blog for a while have noticed a slow in released pieces, and customers from my shop have noticed a great decline in how fast I can get orders out. The past few months, my health's just been taking greater and greater dives, and it's seriously put me back from my ability to work on anything.

So, I've got a ko-fi goal now. And not wanting to get too deeply in the details on a public post, I have made the exact details of what medical problems my goal is for here on ko-fi.

Now $10000 is a lot of money, honestly it's not even half of what I need, but it will get me out of the danger zone I've been sitting in.
