A few months ago a user messaged me out of the blue about buying one of my dragons, which wouldn’t be a problem except that this dragon was on the first row, decked out in expensive apparel, had a retired accent, and had an extensive bio with art. The message came off as pretty whiny and they even included a sob story. I was pretty confused as to why they thought he was for sale, but politely said no, and thought that was the end of it.

A few days ago I saw them selling some hatchlings so I went to their lair to see them. What caught my eye was a dragon with the same exact colors and flight with pieces of apparel that my dragon wears. I clicked on the dragon and in the bio is a list of all 15 items my dragon is wearing, and then gene plans, which are exactly the same as mine. They made a preview of what he’ll look like, and it’s literally exactly the same as my dragon. They even included listing the accent mine wears.

I’m kind of annoyed because I spent so much time and money breeding him and making his outfit unique and now it’s being completely copied. There are only seven dragons on the site with just those colors - none have the same genes. If the user had asked for inspiration I would definitely have helped, but they are obviously copying him.

Idk, is this type of stuff normal? Maybe I shouldn’t be mad. It makes me kinda uncomfortable but I’m not good at confronting people ???

The User in question may be a whiny ponce, but clearly they liked what you did with your dragon and are working hard to do what you’ve done with yours. In other words, it’s not your problem, because you still have your dragon, GO FUCK YOURSELF. Thank you. :3

OP was contemplating ‘confronting’ the copycat, while it was barely an inkling and certainly absolutely called for in the case of oh say, stolen lore, it’s otherwise also, fucking unnecessary, this is a pixel dragon game, OP needs to get over themselves.

And if you think that was unnecessary, you should see the rest of my blog, but for some reason, I’m inclined to believe it would give your sensitive soul cramps.

Way to judge me without knowing shit about me. I'm not a sensitive soul by any means, I just didn't see where telling the OP to fuck themselves was remotely called for in the situation.

Honestly I feel like N really over-reacted with all this bullshit they got over their mistake. Sure, they made a mistake, and people are salty about it. I’m salty about it, as an artist. They apologized, that should have been that. There was absolutely no need to exalt all their dragons, restart their lair by changing flights and name. Just stay off the art forum until you know what’s acceptable to say and what’s not. Nobody forced them to make all these changes, all that we wanted was that they not piss all over someone’s artwork.

Is anyone else getting this

Has anyone else here gotten this? I recently sold a dragon hatchling on the AH. Someone immediately bought it and named it DingDongBoink. Then they IMMEDIATELY EXALTED. I specifically said in the dragon description that it was not for exalting. It was so beautiful too, it has (oh sorry, HAD) some great colors. But noooo, off to the Tidelord it goes! Someone find this bitch asap, I want to kill them.

Doesn't matter what was on the dragon's bio. The instant someone bought it, you lost all right and control over the dragon. Don't want it exalted then don't sell it. Simple as that.

So why exactly are we loosing Chaos for the new guy?

Looking at the news post most of the users posting are saying no, we don’t want to see Chaos go. Shouldn’t the users have been asked first if WE wanted to see the NPCs replaced? I mean it does not make sense to change something small like who runs cooking or shop keepers when a lot of users like the NPCs we currently have. It just sucks to see something like this changed when people don’t want it changed… yet other bugs and broken things sitting there not being touched. Great resource management. Fix things not broken that users don’t want / need changed.

The old NPCs are Slash's OCs from befofe he made Aywas. It's not our place to decide if they stay on the site or not, we just have to suck it up and deal with the changes.

I’m not 100% but I don’t think it was guaranteed to be one of those genuses…I think the breeding admin can tell you more/get it corrected but.

Right now the site is trying to find ways to still function and keep going so not sure how this and future things might be handled. I’d imagine, no offense to site or users, given everything with the site and the apparent sheer number of eggnog breeds they’d be lower priority. Might as well ask the admin or at least a staff member though?

so i was reluctant to support wind because the art for fodder thread is run by that idiot Oo who sells traced pixels, but it didn’t matter since i wasn’t too interested in either flight’s art for fodder.

i ended up sending my levels to wind because of the arcane fodder buy acceptor that was an edgelord with SPOOPY font and knife emojis

plus Oo is a pretty nice person from my interactions, but i really don’t think it’s right to sell traced art and it’s shitty that she profits so much off of it, shamelessly, and staff defends that practice…

Unfortunately on most sites Like FR, selling traced versions of site art is acceptable .__.

Doesn't make it right, but people aren't going to stop doing something that makes them money if by site rules it's legit.

or something like that…i just get really upset? because like there’s a lot of assholes that take advantage of misprices and don’t message the people who sold it to them?

like whenever i see a misprice i buy it immediately and message the owner, because honestly guys, it’s not that hard to be a fair and hardworking person.

i know a shitton of people are going to be all like:

People selling things at yard sales are often just wanting to be rid of the stuff, not selling it in order to profit off it the way people who sell shit on FR do.

RL people don’t generally look up prices and know what every item at a yard sale is worth, nor do they care if someone buys and resells their crap for more money.

People on FR tend to know exactly what their items are worth and want to get the absolute max profit off them.

And it stings more when you know you just fucked up and lost 300k treasure because your fingers failed to listen to your brain/you spaced and forgot to pick the right currency. No sting when you sell an old doll for five bucks and never bother to look it up and see the price.

At the same time, most buyers literally do not even look at who sold it. Even if I’m not in a hurry to snipe a cheap dragon or item or whatever, I don’t ever look. I just don’t think to, I don’t think the information is relevant, and I’m usually more focused on snapping up anything someone decided to sell for cheap, I don’t often stop to think it might have been an accident (because stopping to think means that any deals now belong to someone else).

Personally, I feel the buyer bought it fair and square and they shouldn’t be punished or guilted into returning it. There are confirmation windows to avoid this issue. I don’t believe the buyer should be an asshole about it. I don’t believe they should be mocking people who misprice. But I also don’t think returning the item is an obligation.

It’s a nice thing to do, sure, but not doing it doesn’t make you some awful terrible person. Bragging about it and mocking the seller is terrible, but not returning an item you fairly bought from the AH isn’t making anyone a bad person.

And like I said, many people don’t even know who they bought it from. They’d have no way to find the seller even if they wanted to. Dragon lineages don’t even mean anything because of how often dragons change hands. And there are just as many people betting on you not having paid attention that will claim to be the seller of a dragon or item on a thread or in a message and try to scam you out of it.

I wasn't saying you had to return the item or faulting anyone who snapped up a deal without looking at the seller...

I was only saying there was a difference between someone's grandmother buying stuff at a yard sale and one of the players who literally says "fuck you" to sellers who misprint shit. Honestly not knowing who the seller was is a whole third thing.

AND my 5 egg friend got a scroll in their second chest! I didn’t even get more unique familiars! It’s like I am truly hated by the RNG or something.

So please shut the fuck up about the RNG and how “random” it’s supposed to be, because while I had 2 weeks of tears and frustration, you probably got to enjoy yourself.

The only thing that salvaged it was them trading me some eggs and helping me get the rest.

Random means “You and your friends can all do the exact same amount of gathering/grinding and there is no guarantee any of you get anything worthwhile let alone the same amount of things.”

All I’m saying is just because you didn’t get a crap ton of eggs and scrolls doesn’t mean the rates are fucked, it means you didn’t get a lucky roll of the RANDOM number generator.
