MOGII Representation in Tamriel

The people behind the MMO "The Elder Scrolls Online" (or ESO for short) have since launch made an effort to include NPCs that are not heterosexual or cisgender, or otherwise do not fit the heteronormality image in our real world. For fun, I wanted to make a blog that collects as many of these NPCs as possible. The blog will focus on NPCs, but will also include player characters with permission of the player. Help through submission is gratefully accepted!

Nalgillarion's attempt to have a spouse has had tragic results due to the Three-Banners War. He is a random NPC found in Leyawiin.

Paratus Vamin is a random NPC you can find close to the temple in Leyawiin. If you interact with him, he will talk about his troubles, and mention his husband in passing.

if you speak to him again straight after, he will also offer to help ‘loosen your muscles’ before you go into battle. he’s also super cute if you speak to him after defeating the boss, awkwardly apologising for whatever he said while under the spell. i love one (1) bisexual disaster

The House of Revelries is famous in Summerset for not only living only for the art and not the fame, but also for its acceptance of all people, be it different races, same-sex relationships or people not happy with the body they were born with.

Allegro and Adagio are one pair of examples, in which they are married and perform together.

During the quest “The Curse of Heimlyn Keep”, Hadrill Diina is one of the people you have to save. She is an NPC you do not meet again during the quest and is just one for you to have a quick conversation with, but it is nice that characters from the main characters of a zone to the most insignificant NPC can be something other than just heterosexual, all the time.

We do not meet Hadrill’s wife.

Nurara Mothran is bored and find fun in flirting with people, and has tried to flirt with both the Nord stable boy and their guard Orama. Orama is not amused, but more because of the mother-and-daughter pairing being bad, classist (and racist?) people than them being of the same gender.

Majoll’s relationship with Jakarn came to a depressing stop, unfortunately. But that is what happens when you fall for a lying thief who has a harem following after him.

Better luck next time, Majoll. Let us drink in solidarity on how awful Jakarn is.

While she does not really appear again, Alainne Babiloine hides by the Countess’ home and keeps an eye on any of her suiters, for no particular reason beyond her own feelings for the woman. She shows signs of being a stalker, or at least is a bit creepy with her obsession with the countess.

Since the countess shows little interest in Alainne, and in the end has other things to think about than romance, she is not included here.

Nicolene’s admiration for Kaleen is strong, and can easily be seen as something more, something romantic.

One of the sub-plots in Wrothgar has you help Deechee-Noo find ingredients to her experiment. You also find out that she has quite a few rauchy connections to people, two of them being the women Rasna and Telarnel. It is unknown if her lovers are aware of the wide relationship or not.

Orbinor is the third Lumberjack Hireling you get messages from, and at a certain stage in his journey, he meets up with a group of Khajiit. He becomes friends with one of them, Nullini, and they are close enough that people tease their relationship. Nullini is engaged to another woman when Orbinor leaves and continues his journey.
