Food, gifts, family and more food. It was finally time to end their Christmas Eve celebration and start again after some good night sleep. Giving each and every family member of hers a kiss, Ember went off to her room afterwards. There, she found on her bed was a small box wrapped with a ribbon. Raising an eyebrow to herself, the girl let herself check on the card and wonder who this surprise gift could be from. Seeing that it was from Ethan, the girl bit her lower lip nervously and open it up. She was surprised by the lovely bracelet that laid beautifully on that pillow, it was just like the time he bought her a bracelet back when they were dating too. Were they dating at that time? Hard to remember, because she made herself forget it. She loved her time with Ethan, but some memories are just worth letting go of. With that, the girl sighed and quickly got out her phone to text him. She didn’t want to call him after all, he may be busy or asleep “It’s very sweet of you to get me a gift” she texted “Unfortunately I didn’t get you one, but I will now” she then said, because she was the type who just can’t leave it like that. She got something, he needs to get something in return “but yes, thank you. Merry Christmas to you and your family!”

This was the most time Ethan spends with his family. Not because he didn’t want to be with them or anything of that sort. It was just because they were all busy with school and his mother was okay with that. He was with them, watching a Christmas movie when his phone vibrated. He had gotten Ember a very nice bracelet from Tiffany’s. He took it out and read the text that came through with a small chuckle. Megan looked over and he just shook his head in responce before moving to text ember back. ‘You don’t have to. I know you will, because I know you, but again, you don’t have.’ He assured her, knowing full well the next time he’d see her she’d probably have a gift or a gift idea for him. It wasn’t his goal, to have her give him something. ‘Merry Christmas to you and yours too.’ He sent back.

Ember laughed at what the man said “Yeah, I get your point” she responded to him, before she then nodded at his next words about him being the only one from SA that she has seen so far “Kind of” she shrugged “I mean, in the past few months I haven’t bumped into anyone yet” she then said, biting her lower lip as she thought to herself “Though in the past, I have already hung out with Seth, Lance, Jay and like.. a few others too..”

Ethan chuckled at her. “You never were good with keeping up with people, no matter how hard you tried. You liked hiding in your damn holes all the time.” He teased and shook his head. “I’ve talked to Jay, only a few times though after school.” He said. “Like I said, mostly just Piero.” He shrugged.

“I heard they’re pretty sex crazed, so I’m pretty sure that that won’t change after all these time” Ember said, shrugging - before she tilted her head in curiosity “What do you mean?” she asked, honestly confused by his question “You mean, have I ever caught them in the act? Of course not”

“They are, but still don’t need to see John and Piero dong that.” Ethan he grinned before a small laugh left his lips “No, I meant am I the only one from SA that you’ve seen or had contact with.” He laughed, shaking his head as he smiled at her.

“Well, that’s good” Ember said, nodding - before she then giggled at what he said last “Why? Ever have the two of you accidentally pop into each others rooms and see something - that you don’t really want to see?” she added, as she giggled a little bit more.

Ethan laughed and nodded. “yeah, lets just say Its never a good idea to do a surprise visit to Piero’s place unless you know exactly what he’s doing.” He chuckled. “What about you? Or am I the only lucky one?”

“Yeah, he’s weird but I love him dearly” Ember said, nodding to herself - before she then smiled at what the man said “I’m sure it’ll all work out at the end” she then responded, shrugging “Anything else new? Did you stay in touch with anyone from SA?”

“Trust me, I know you do.” He chuckled with a smile on his face. “she typically likes my gifts, no matte how much she acts like she doesn’t.” He laughed. “I get amazing gifts.” He grinned. “I did. Piero mostly. Holly will call once in a while, but mostly Piero. Its nice having both of us being able to teleport, but not nice since... there are some bad timing.” He laughed.

Ember couldn’t resist but to giggle at what the man said, it made her miss Megan “Well, as long as she’s okay” she said, nodding - before she then smiled when he mentioned her brothers’ gift. With that, the girl shrugged “Yeah, Zeke isn’t over about the whole nun thing. He’s been making me go as a nun for Halloween, to get a feel of it” she then added, laughing - as she then bit her lower lip at the end to quiet herself and nodded once more when he said he could stay and chat for a little bit “Thanks, but are you sure you’re not gonna be late for something?”

“Yeah she’s okay.” Ethan nodded. Hearing about Zeke, he laughed and shook his head. “Your brother, there is a weird love for him.” He chuckled. He never mentioned her other brother. There was an awkwardness with that, since Ethan kinda took his girlfriend. “Nope. Classes are out and Meg’s being to cryptic with what she wants, so I still gonna figure out what she wanted” He chuckled.

Ember smiled, honestly happy about the fact that this little meet up was going well. She didn’t take their break up well, that’s for sure. Everyone knew it, she was criticized badly for it. The way she reacted was normal, it just meant that the relationship really did matter hugely for her. The girl didn’t really care about what the others said about her, she has finally moved on and that’s good “That’s good, I’m glad” she said, nodding “Hope your sister has been good” she then added, lightly giggling - before she then nodded once more at the mention of her Brothers “Yeah, they’re getting me a gift apparently. That’s why I’m here, care to join me? I can get you a drink too or something..”

Ethan chuckled. “You know Meg, she’s always good, and when she’s not, she fixes it right away, or burns it.” He grinned. There were wrongs he done in the past, she was one of them. The way he hurt her, was something he’d be always guilty about. He still missed her. “Your brother were always... interesting, so i’m guess your gift will be as well.” He said as he took a seat with her. “As much as its hard to refuse a drink from a pretty lady, I’ve had way to much caffeine in me right now.” He said, his words coming out with an ease. It was always easy to compliment Ember. “But I’m willing to chat with you as you wait, if you’d like.” He chuckled.

“Yeah” Ember responded to the man, smiling “How have you been?” she then asked, tilting her head in curiosity. The girl have not heard from Ethan in so long, after graduation - everyone just went their separate ways, despite how close they were. It was quite sad, really. Then again, it was for the better when it came to a few people. SA was such a dramatic experience for the girl, it was a mix of all the emotions you could think of “What have you been doing lately?”

Ethan smiled at her as he listened to her. “I’ve been good, better.” He said honestly and looked at her. “You?” He asked. The way the ended, was a sour note in Ethan’s life. But still, out of all at SA he wondered how she ended up after she left. The one he stayed in contact the most was Piero, hearing bits and pieces of others through the wind. “College, keeping Megan in check as usual.” He chuckled gently. “Your brothers around?” He asked

Ember was sitting outside a café, with a drink in front of her and her eyes on her phone. Sure, it was cold out but it’s just how she likes it. The girl was waiting for her Brothers to finish up their own little Christmas shopping, they told her not to go with them because they were planning on getting a gift meant for her. They were both old enough to be left alone, they were more of the protectors than she was. Letting her eyes lift up and away from her phone for a moment, the girl suddenly spotted a familiar face. It’s been so long, she didn’t realize she was starting to just stare at him until he started to get closer to her “Hi, hey.. Hi Ethan”

Ethan was in college, he was studying arts. Since his father had understood that Ethan was going to do what he wants, Ethan walked with a weight that weighed him down for most of his life. He was glad that he had stood up to his father, something that took him a lot of courage to do. He had been shopping for his family, picking Megan’s brain to figure out what she wanted when he noticed someone staring. A smile formed on his face. “Hey.” He said walking closer to her, a small chuckle coming from him. “Long time yeah?”

Ember lightly giggled at how the little girl quickly grabbed her hand, it made her simply get her bag and walk slowly to the beach “Yes, patience” she said, nodding “Do you want to swim first, then eat?” she now asked, raising an eyebrow at the little girl as she gently squeezed her little hand.

Jacking nodded her head quickly. "Yessss. Swim first. Come on mama." She sighed and ethan chuckled, shaking his head. "Jackie calm down." He smiled and picked her up, kissing her cheek sweetly.

Ember smiled, as she then got her bag full of the things needed for the beach and simply placed it on the side - before she removed the little girls bathrobe to reveal her swimsuit that they already wore at home. Then, she removed her own and revealed the fact that they were matching ”You look so pretty in your little swimsuit darling” she said to Jackie with a smile, as she placed their robes into the bag.

Ethan watched the girl reveal the swimsuits and chuckled a little. "Cute." He said as Jackie giggled happily. "Matchie! You looks pretty too." She said with a smile before pulling at Embers hand. "Come onnnnn wanna swim." She giggled and ethan shook his head. "Patience Jackie."

Ember looked over to Jackie and smiled at her “Of course we will” she said, nodding “Lots and lost of them” she then added, nodding “I’m not good at making them, but I’ll try my best” she now giggled and leaned in to give the little girl a peck on her cheek “Okay?”

Jackie giggled and smiled happily at her. "Yay." She giggled. Ethan chuckled and looked at them. "No matter, we'll help you out." He chuckled as they parked. He helped Ember and Jackie out of the car.

Ember smiled at Jackie and told her that she loved her too, before she then looked over to Mrs. Bennett and nodded at what she said “Of course!” she exclaimed happily, as she then let Jackie sit on the counter and simply continued to get all the materials they needed “Maybe you can start off with boiling the water Mrs. Bennett” she then said, nodding.

Ethan chuckled listening to the three women. It was a good dinner and a few days later, Ember had them all going to the beach again. Jackie was jumping up and down in the car as they traveled to the sandy beach. "Make a castle! We's gotta!" She giggled as she looked at Ember. "Promises me mama we will."

Ember looked down at Jackie and giggled at how she hugged on her leg “Want to help Mommy make your favorite Mac and Cheese?” she asked, as she then crouched down and leaned in to peck her cheek “We can put extra cheese in it, it’ll be amazing!” she then said, smiling widely at the little girl - before she picked her up and hugged her. Thankfully, Mac and Cheese was something easy to make, not more than three ingredients were needed. The girl could only bake and do the simply things, but actual cooking? She had no idea how to do that.

Jackie giggled happily and nodded and made grabby hands for Ember to pick her up. "Cheeeeeeese." She giggled and smiled happily up at Ember. "Love you mama." She giggled as Mrs. Bennett moved up to Ember. "May I help you out dear?" She smiled warmly. Ethan chuckled. "And the girls have taken over the kitchen, I shall take my leave." He laughed.

Ember looked over to Ethan and smiled at him, it made her simply head over to where everything was set up and already started preparing what they need for mac and cheese. The girl has been spending a lot of her time with Mrs.Bennett and it caused her to be quite familiar with ein the house

Ethan chuckled and kissed Jackie's head. "I think its fine if we stay here." He chuckled as Jackie once again squealed and Ethan covered his ears. "The squealing, jesus." He chuckled. Jackie ran over and hugged Ember's leg.
