For Reptile Awareness Day, we’re highlighting the Komodo dragon.🐉 Growing up to 10 feet (3 meters) long and weighing up to 200 pounds (90.7 kilograms), it’s the world’s biggest and most powerful living lizard. It’s a formidable predator, hunting deer, water buffalo, and wild pigs. To catch its meal, a Komodo dragon typically waits along trails, using a long, forked tongue to detect scents in the air. It ambushes prey with a venomous bite. This reptile can consume up to 80% of its body weight at a time! Photo: D. last day of natural history illustration :( I got to paint a great horned owl study skin and skull at the Field Museum today!
Drawing of Long-eared owl is finally finished. I really enjoy drawing all kinds of birds even they are not my favourite creatures from animal kingdom. Every single species is so unique, that's why I enjoy drawing them so much, specially birds of prey and owls. What is your favourite animal to draw?
