You know, thinking about the Microsoft/Bethesda layoffs, like... I'm upset about long term creative members getting fired. That sucks and it will surely derail the directions these games are headed in. But I'm sorry, when you are given the keys to the kingdom, 15 years, and endless money and resources, and the best you can do in that time is 30 seconds of digitally rendered footage that doesn't even come from any developed material, they really can't be surprised about this. Especially when, of the 4 projects they've produced in that time, one (FO4) was just okay, one (FO76) was terrible, one (Starfield) was GODFUCKINGAWFUL, and one (TESO) was okay, but people are moving out of multiplayer games, ESO made mincemeat out of half the lore which pissed off a lot of longtime fans, and then Zenimax got busted stealing art assets, recipes, etc from fans and not crediting them … really, Bethesda kind of had this one coming.

I'm not saying the staff they chose to lay off was the right call, but you don't get money and resources poured into you as a studio, get to produce nothing but junk for almost 15 years while raking in cash over every new rerelease of Skyrim, and then get to act surprised when your new overlords come in and take the ax to your team. Maybe if you hadn't dicked around and released a decent game in that time instead of expecting the community to fix all of your issues with your half baked releases, you wouldn't be in this mess, Bethesda.

Honestly, Todd Howard has mismanaged this studio for years. Really, for 2 decades now, from the space between Morrowind and Oblivion until now. Who really needs to be axed is the man himself.

The kids both got some love this week. Rathas with a new custom skin blend, including hair, scarring details, and his Redoran + Reclamations tattoo. Kjara with new brows, some new eye warpaint, and a new hair style. Now I need to actually fix my game so I can play the new Val LOTD update. Sigh. Wish me luck.

I enjoy PC gaming for the versatility because then I'm not locked into a single console and have more options for things but I also despise the fact that it's so unpredictable and constantly breaks like I shouldn't have to be a programmer or a computer expert to play the game.
