Character Intro: Harbor

A Buizel that spends most of his days as a carefree river guide, Harbor has lived in Mistbow Valley most of his life, particularly at the edge of Dappled Forest. A natural swimmer and adventurer, Harbor has long dreamed to join the local guild for navigator teams, the Brightwater Guild to fulfill a deeply held wish. However, despite his positive reputation in Breezy Town, he hasn't sought out a partner to sign up with or offered his partnership to any of the local teams. Moreover, despite being friendly with everyone, no one can quite say they truly know him. Although almost always with a smile on his face and a smooth and easygoing nature, Harbor like Runa has his own secrets he keeps hidden. For example, why during their first meeting at Sunglade Falls she comes across him, smile absent and a faraway look in his eyes, standing alone in the golden hour. Several of the townsfolk will make mention of his mother Cressida, who vanished years earlier, one of the only things her son remembering her by is the unfulfilled promise of her return. That begs the question: who is Harbor, and what does he truly wish for?

A human turned Swablu, Runa is new to the world where only Pokemon exist. Awakening in Mistbow Valley's evolution spot of the Luminous Cascade in the Dappled Forest, Runa soon finds herself involved in the antics of local river guide Harbor. Haunted by dreams of an ancient sea, her secret humanity, and the enigmatic egg move that shouldn't belong to someone who never hatched from an egg: Roost, Runa eventually joins Harbor in apprenticing at Breezy Town's local guild for navigators, the Brightwater Guild. With the world slowly unraveling and evolution spots drying up, everything is about to change. And for Runa, that fact scares her more than anything.

tell me about team eventide... what's their story like :]

Team Eventide consists of Runa, a human turned Swablu, and Harbor, a Buizel. Their story takes place in a PMD world separate from the events of the games. Runa and Harbor first encounter each other shortly after Runa wakes up in the PMD world, where after stumbling through the forest, she finds a hidden forest’s edge that exists on the shore of Sunglade Falls, a landmark in Mistbow Valley where the setting sun is said to turn the flowing waters a gentle gold under its rays. It’s there she first encounters Harbor, a strange sadness in his eyes that soon is stowed away beneath what she will come to learn is a carefree mask that is a result of eleven years of feeling like he can’t be honest about the complicated parts of himself.

The overarching plotline really begins when they form a team and join the Brightwater Guild, a guild located behind a waterfall in the valley near the central hub of Breezy Town. Runa starts having dreams involving a song hummed in tones that seem to mimic the rhythm of the ocean waves. The connection is initially very shaky, but it starts to strengthen after a while. While this is progressing, the discovery is made that the local evolution spot, the Luminous Cascade, is drying up and the Voice of Life that watches over it seems to have vanished. This is especially concerning, as Mistbow Valley is one of the most lush regions of evolution energy on the continent. The only know solution to solving this crisis is a phenomenon known as the Luminous Rain. However, the Luminous Rain has not appeared for 500 years, and the goddess responsible for the replenishing of the evolution spots has locked herself deep away from most Pokemon. As it turns out, Harbor's own mother, a Floatzel named Cressida, left the valley to investigate the crisis eleven years before, promising Harbor that she would return. However, she never did and Harbor has never found out why. To top it all off, strange glitches in reality start to occur, such waterfalls flowing backwards, or trees seeming to flicker in and out of existence for a second. Something is very wrong in the Pokemon world, and Runa somehow seems connected to all of it.

Thanks so much for asking! Runa and Harbor initially meet shortly after she awakens in the waters of the Luminous Cascade. After emerging from the forest, she first sees Harbor in the gathering dusk near a more isolated subsection of waterfalls in a corner of the valley. Runa notices his eyes seem distant as he gazes at the sunlit waters from the falls, along with a hint of melancholy. However, his demeanor changes when he notices her, asking if she’s lost or needs help. He introduces himself as the local river guide, but Runa notices that despite his genuine friendliness, his smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes. He takes her to the valley’s doctor where she can stay for the night, but that evening marks the start of their lives becoming entwined. As for their rank, they initially start out as a Normal Rank Navigator Team but ascend through the ranks a bit as the story progresses!
