When I was growing up we had a book of illustrated poems (from when my mother was growing up) that we read out of when there wasn’t time for stories (no faster but we did it) this book of poems (big book) (very old now) had such pretty drawings that set me on Edge. My favorite poem was “This Is Just To Say” by William Carlos Williams because it made sense. And I liked fruit. I had never had a plum (not in the house) (mother didn’t like fruit) but I understood; the confession, the lack of regret. The drawing of a red checkerboard tablecloth, the way there is a call for for forgiveness but no apology.

This Is Just To Say

I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox

And at least we’re saying it. My brother never warned me when he ate my sandwich (10 year grudge)

I wanted a plum so badly. Wanted something so sweet and so cold. The other poems were flowery and flowy and didn’t make sense, but here this was. Just a message. Just to say.

Besties I got Covid like.. a Month ago and took my two weeks to recover n whatnot. So I’ve been out and about and up and at em for Two Weeks now. And last night I put a real strain on my body tattooing it, and I’ve either got the tattoo flu and seasonal allergies that started issues at the Same Time, or I’m sick again and I will simply be sick forever😭😭 because I have had a Fever all day and and I have maybe been awake for like 6 of the last 24 hours

So do people realize that we aren't building new train tracks when we expand the amteak network, I have multiple times seen people say that we shouldn't expand the network because it would destroy protected lands, which would be a fair criticism but Amtrak doesn't build new tracks, we use existing tracks. We are not destroying protected lands, we are using land that has already been clear for a century

Also the alternative is more highways which destroy significantly more land for less capacity than railways. So the question is do you want to keep complaining about something that isn't happening and let the environment get damaged as a result or do you want to actually learn how things work

So, wait... Were the tracks not in use at all? Or was it like *only* commercial transport on those tracks? Either way, its good that amtrak will be able to use them again, but one would be much more frustrating

Almost all rail tracks in the US are either abandoned or only used for freight rail at the moment

Tonight I learned that my 20 yr old partner has never played chess and doesn't know how to play chess. This is mind boggling to me. They claim its not weird for people to not know anything about chess so I. I need to see. Please.
