For reference, this is a higher level of circulation than any time during the first year of the pandemic and at almost any time of the second.

You read that right. That is a minimum estimate of 50k people who will wind up disabled to some degree by this disease TODAY.

And if you're looking at those death numbers and thinking "that doesn't apply to me, that's the sick and the old." One, research is showing an increase in cardiovascular deaths among people younger than 40 that might be related to COVID and two, if you have had any other COVID infection, you're now part of "the sick".

I get that this post is mostly preaching to the choir but on the off chance it reaches people who aren't masking:

@susanoos-wife has me blokt for responding to things like this before, so I can't directly respond to her posting this.

Accepting hygiene theater is unacceptable. Promoting proper covid caution is ALWAYS more important than applauding people for abandoning disabled and high risk people to participate in shallow consumerism. Asking people to mask around others and/or test before interacting with you isn't "too strict" in any context. It's the bare minimum. If you can't do two things to help keep EVERYONE more safe and more healthy, I'm fucking saying something. And you should too. Quit being a coward to preserve a "normal" that includes mass death and disease. Quit perpetually conceding to eugenics and fascism because you don't care enough about your own health let alone the health of literally everyone else to ask your friends to regularly take two or three precautions during an ongoing pandemic. I cannot praise or accept people who refuse to face reality, especially when they've been acting like this:

Mitigations only work when you use them. Turning off air filters, removing masks, "forgetting" to get vaccinations, and insisting on unsafe activities like indoor dining when safer alternatives like outdoor dining and take-out are RIGHT FUCKING THERE is literally killing and disabling people. Quit trying to pathologize, shame, and otherize those who have adapted to the reality of airborne illness and catch the fuck up. Act like you care instead of acting like you act like you care, performative-ass bitches.

i get discriminated against regardless of if my natural hair is out or not bc the very idea of black ppl doing anything with our hair is both politicized and constantly dehumanized, i get followed in stores when i wear twist, i get harassed by strangers asking “is that all yours” trying to put their hands on me when i wear wigs, i get masculinized and seen as a threat with a fro out, i get assumed to be stupid / unable to understand english with braids, and lord forbid i cover it with a bonnet or durag then it dont matter if im nice or not imma seen as a lazy sloppy criminal, black existence is not treated as neutral ever, until u understand that ur never going to unlearn these biases u have over our hair or even just the absence of our hair

i’m gonna be real i don’t think alistair did or said anything during the period when the warden was unconscious to engender the type of ire and contempt morrigan reserves for him in the sense that he like. snapped at her, or if he did, i don’t think that’s her primary motivator for loathing him. if the warden can’t impregnate morrigan, then i think this is both the period of time when flemeth is telling morrigan her role in the dark ritual/when morrigan is first taking that information in and her first real impression of the person she’s going to have sex with so that she can have a baby. if the warden CAN impregnate morrigan, then she’s gritting her teeth hoping the person who’s unconscious is a better option than this guy who is vulnerable, grieving, and unable to manage any of his emotional responses in a way she finds appropriate, much less appealing. she hates him bc he is, to her, her mother’s plan in human form, the dissolution of her autonomy in human form, and he can’t even suck it up and deal the way she is.

we're at a million infections a day in the US again so reminder to mask up (especially since covid can be asymptomatic so you might be contagious and not know). and if u get covid resting during/afterwards is very important- it's not really possible to rest 24/7 but taking breaks thruout the day to rest is a good idea, as well as avoiding exercise for at least a month
