My new strategy in naming things since I’m bad at making up languages is to look up lists of words specifically from dead languages that are also either language isolates or from dead or unusual language families.

So then there won’t be enough people to call me out on using it wrong.

Who’s gonna call me out for misusing Etruscan words? Like two people lost somewhere in a university library? I can almost certainly outrun them. They can’t find me.

If I use Latin everyone is gonna call me out on it. It’s easy to find someone that can read Latin. If I use Finnish I’ll certainly get caught. They all speak English. They will find me.

Using random words and names from dead Iberian languages though? Who the hell is gonna notice? Some nerd working at an archeological site in Spain? They’re not gonna call me out. They’re too busy digging.
