this started as a joke but then i started actually thinking about it and now im really annoyed that IDs have this one letter that doesnt mean anything for cis people and is a huge pain in the ass for trans people when we could instead have literally lifesaving information so emergency medical services could just check ur wallet to see which blood to give you so you dont die or whatever But No
I’m all for IDs being gender inclusive, but replacing gender markers with blood type wouldn’t be as useful as people think.
Hospitals can’t give you a blood transfusion with anything other than O- without testing your blood type first, even if it’s listed on your medical records already. The test is pretty quick and getting the wrong blood type is incredibly dangerous and possibly fatal, so they don’t take chances.
Blood type tests are only valid for like 3 days after they’re done, so if you have to get more than one transfusion more than a few days apart, they have to retest your blood every time. Even though your blood type never changes, they have to screen for antibodies that might react to the donor blood, and those do change. They will also reverify your blood type when they retest, because they can’t just assume it was recorded correctly the previous time, because of how dangerous getting the wrong blood type is.
The only time they won’t test your blood type is if there isn’t enough time to run the test. In an extreme emergency, they’ll give you O-, which is why O- is so vital to have available.
Also, just like with gender, the general understanding of how blood types work is incredibly simplified. Like, my blood type is A+, but that does not automatically mean I can accept blood from anyone who is A+, because there are hundreds of A antigens that can possibly cause an adverse reaction to each other. The “+” only specifies the Rh factor of my blood (Rh is a protein that you either have or don’t have), but gives zero information about any other antigens. It’s not enough information.
O- doesn’t have A or B antigens, and it also doesn’t have the Rh protein, which is why it’s considered universal. It’s extremely rare (but not impossible) that someone would have an adverse reaction to O-.
But like, some blood types are so rare that they can’t take blood from anyone, and yet their blood type will still fit into one of the 8 main types that we know of, because they will still be classified as A, B, AB or O, and they will still either be Rh+ or Rh-, but one of the other hundreds of antigens makes their blood type incompatible with everyone.

Hey. If people aren't aware, Microsoft admitted they know who you and where you are at all times and will give your info to the police.
They have a Global Device Identifier (GDID) Tracker that functions as a fingerprint for your PC that can surpass VPNs, proxy servers and countries. Although it can't survive a clean reinstall of Windows (it can survive updates), because Microsoft forces you to go to the internet and log in into a Microsoft account, they will be able to get to you.
Microsoft kept it secret and it was only found out when the FBI tracked a hacker thanks to the information Microsoft gave them.
You should be paying attention to this, and possibly consider moving away from Windows. If a government, especially the US government, doesn't like you for some reason, this could be seriously concerning.

Two things back that up:
There’s no consent screen. A GDID gets assigned when you sign into a Microsoft Account. Apple’s advertising identifier needs an App Tracking Transparency prompt and a visible reset; Android’s works the same way. GDID has neither, and a Windows reinstall only gets you a new number Microsoft can still get back to the same account.
Then there’s activation. Massgrave, the group behind Microsoft Activation Scripts, notes that Windows setup sends hardware info to Microsoft and gets identifiers back, the same tokens later used for Store access and licensing: “It’s impossible to prevent Windows from getting a GDID without breaking activation and UWP app[s].” Anyone who lost a license after swapping a motherboard has already met a smaller version of this.

You can get and use windows 11 without logging in with a microsoft account, as of five days ago. I am a local user on my computer. Don't ask me how to do it, because my computer repair guy did it when he reinstalled windows, but there are tutorials out there. Refuse to connect to internet until you're set up and can use the computer freely.
I am BEGGING companies to stop putting a layer of silicone over every fucking plastic object. Things are fine if they're not matte textured! It's fine I promise!
Silicone decays in high heat and humidity making it sticky, and I'm so fucking sick of having to cover everything I own, from my hair drier to my fucking cintiq in a layer of baby powder.

I'm pretty sure it's a silicon gel coating that they use, specifically to make it feel smooth. There is a bunch of different types of silicone for use in different settings, but I've also found that some cheaper silicone utensils become gross and sticky after a few years too in exactly the same way. We don't actually own any silicone baking trays any more because they just got gross and difficult to wash.
The coating isn't going to be the same type of silicone as baking trays, which isn't the same kind of silicone as sex toys, which isn't the same kind of silicone as used in mould making.
I just wish they'd test their products durability in various climates. I don't live in the only part of the world that's hot and humid! and it's absolutely ridiculous that something as expensive as a wacom cintiq that you buy as an investment becomes fucking sticky in a few years.
Especially since the silicone doesn't actually do ANYTHING. The function of the tablet isn't bettered by the use of rapidly decaying silicone coatings, but when it decays and becomes gross that DOES affect it's use. It picks up dirt and dust and hairs and it becomes impossible to clean. And it's not even something I can easily replace! It's the entire top casing. It's not just the replaceable grip on the pen (which is also fucking sticky). I have to pull the whole thing apart and they don't sell those parts. So in order to keep using it I have to carefully apply baby powder every few weeks.
Same as the hair drier, and my hair straightener, and the remote control for the TV. It's the entire shell of it. There's no reason that can't be shiny plastic, there is no reason it needs to be silicone coated!
Not every house has air conditioning and making products that don't survive in the normal environmental conditions of an un-airconditioned house should be considered a design failure, not user error.
