Our society is progressing by leaps and bounds with not only accepting but embracing differences and visible wounding. (We still have a long way to go, but progress is exciting and is to be applauded!!!) What about our 'walking wounded' that are among us? The ones without visible wounds? What may immediately pop to mind may be our soldiers and veterans. The wounds of seeing what they have seen, knowing what they know and their first hand experiences can be crippling. There are also the other 'societal blights' that many prefer to pretend they don't exist, such as the victims of nonconsensual acts, those in, or recovering from, abusive relationships or being abused by those who are supposed to love and protect them. The children in the foster system being bounced from place to place with nothing more than a garbage bag to hold their belongings just trying to survive long enough to 'get out'. There are also the 'walking wounded' who may be grieving the loss of a parent, child, spouse, loved one or even grieving the inability to have children of their own. I think of the refugees in all parts of the world (not just the ones that make the news!) who are carrying wounds of leaving their home country with nothing more than what they could carry, what they have witnessed, the terror they have felt and grieving for 'life as they knew it.' Today's message is a simple reminder that we all carry wounds that are not visible to the naked eye. ✨Be kind. ✨Tread gently. ✨Think before you speak. ✨Listen to understand instead of judge. ✨Get involved with offering support or assistance where you are able. ✨Together, we are better. ✨Choose to shine your light instead of throwing shade. ✨Together, we can illuminate the world. Today's message was spurred on after it felt like my own wound in healing was thrashed a couple of times by ignorant offhand remarks by those who chose to make judgements based on limited facts. Words can cut sharper than knives. If you are not aware of someone's situation, be careful in making assumptions that may be thrusting a knife into an old wound. In case no one else told you this today, let me be the first. You are EASY to LOVE. Yes, YOU. (Tag someone who would benefit in hearing this today!) It always astonishes me that those who are the easiest to love, find it the hardest to accept that they are lovable. For they only see the worst in themselves. The coulda, shoulda, wouldas or what they weren't able to accomplish. They don't see how they brighten the world around them, just by showing up or understand just how big of an impact they have in the lives of others. Our world can be cruel, rude and make those with souls that shine the brightest feel tarnished and not worthy. (PSST! If you are a regular follower, this could be or could have been you or someone very close to you! Tag them. How can we help show others they are loved and appreciated? I know this sounds simple, but you can tell them specifically what you love about them or why they are so easy to love. An example of a work situation could be replacing 'you were great' with 'you did a really great job with diffusing the situation with the angry customer. You truly made a positive impact for the customer, the company and your co-workers. Thank you for being you.' A personal life example could be: 'You were so great when you just sat with me and let me vent it out. I truly appreciate you and love who you are as a person.' Those who are unable to see how easy they are to love, do seem to take the specifics to heart. So get specific and help them see how amazing they are! Somedays are just harder than others. Cut yourself a little slack and do what you can right now. It may not be much, but the little things really do make a big difference. As for me, I have days where I am so emotionally wiped out that what I set out to do, just isn't feasible. Somedays that means that I just don't have the emotional capacity to respond to messages or DMs or be there for others as my own cup is running on empty. I stopped beating myself up (because really, it was just making things worse!) and applaud myself for doing what I can. Even if that does not cross everything off on my to-do list....or get every message answered. One of the most frequent things I hear when someone is debating about where to go from here, is 'what if I choose wrong?' The Universe works in mysterious ways, even if we choose 'the wrong way,' if something is truly meant for you, the Universe will bring the opportunity back around. It may not look the same, but it will be the same end result. Many of us (me included) have been paralyzed by fear. We have been so scared to make the wrong decision, that we don't make any decision. This can result in losing out on an opportunity or staying stuck where we don't want to be. We may NOT always make the decision that ends up being the 'easy' way, but once you make the decision, you have the responsibility to make it 'right'. So you chose Option A instead of Option B and 'lost out.' Make the most of Option A. Learn what you need to learn, do what you need to do to make the most of it then make your next decision based on what you learned on this decision. When your decision turns out to be the 'hard' way it may seem like a wrong decision, when in fact, that was exactly where you needed to be to learn something you wouldn't have learned with the other option. The MOST important thing I can say, is that if it is meant to be, you can NOT mess it up. If it is meant to be with you, it will come back around. When I choose to surround myself with those that inspire me, understand me, motivate me and bring out the best in me, it is MUCH EASIER to believe in myself and my ability to make my own dreams a reality. I took the isolation from the past couple of years as a chance to 'detox' my life. It gave me a window into who I enjoyed spending time with, how I felt about myself after I interacted with certain people and who I wanted to become. I learned that when I sought out those who believed in themselves and saw potential in the world that I could freely be me without judgement or ridicule. It gave me the space to grow with the loving support to believe in myself. When I chose to limit my time with those in my life that fed off of the toxic fear of everything going wrong, needing to lay blame, not embracing change and could find the ick in everything good, my life did a 180. I stopped fixating on those same things and started to believe that anything was possible. When I consciously chose to step away from conversations with those who see the world as a 'what's in it for me' scenario or 'the world is out to get me / I'm a victim mentality' I began to see the world as magical. I could see the grace, gratitude and magic in all things and welcome them in to my own life. NOT ALL shifts need to be drastic to make an impact. You can start with one teeny tiny shift by taking note of how you feel about you, the world around you, your future and your own self worth when you are with different people. Fit in more time with ones that feel good, less time with those that don't. I'm still a work in progress as is the world around me. I can say, the more selective I am about who I let into my mental space, the more I believe in myself. The only thing stopping you is you. More specifically, your thoughts and what you allow yourself to believe to be true. Today, instead of looking at what is NOT possible, give yourself permission to see things from a different perspective. Look at life through the perspective of, I CAN and WILL have whatever I believe. I may not know how it will happen, but I CHOOSE to either ❤️Find a way or ❤️Make a way ....and NO, you do not have to believe this is possible right now. Today you are simply granting yourself permission to see that there are possibilities that can bring in what you seek. You don't have to believe them today, but if you can see them, when you are in a space to be ready, you can then believe them. Not for an hour, not for a day, not when I feel like it, not when I'm on deadline. EVERY DAY. In our land of instant gratification and insta-famous success, we seem to lose sight of how someone becomes a master in their craft or makes it to the top of their game. How many times have you seen 'an overnight success' and say, I want that to be me! (anybody have their hands up?) ...now the next part is tricky. How many of you with your hands raised are willing to put in the work, sacrifice, and the struggle it took for someone to become 'an overnight success'???? I'm guessing I lost a few of you right there. We all WANT it, but few are willing to put in the work to get it. We stop when it gets hard. We stop when we get a better offer. We stop when it is no longer fun. We stop when we come up against the first obstacle or maybe the second. We stop when someone else doesn't believe in us. We stop when the light at the end of the tunnel has grown dim. If you want to be where someone else is, you need to be ready, willing and able to do what they have done. Next time you see someone who has become an 'overnight success', I challenge you to check out their past decade or more to see the dedication, hard work, sacrifice and every obstacle they overcame to step into that 'instant success'. How many times did they want to give up or quit but CHOSE to work hard and kept going? How easy would it have been for them to say, I'm done, yet they chose to continue struggling to overcome every obstacle and building their skills? If you want something bad enough, YOU will find a way to put in the hard work and to keep putting in the hard work, even when it is no longer 'fun' or you hit the obstacle course. You will continue to put in the hard work EVEN when others tell you ...'you work too much.' ...or ask you 'is it really worth it'? ... or my favorite .... ...'wouldn't it be easier just to work for someone else?' For me, that answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT. My dream is worth the hard work and sacrifice. My secret truly is simple. I work hard. We set our sights on what we want, and then get hung up on the: 🐵'Coulda, shoulda, wouldas' 🙈The pre-programmed things we are 'supposed to want / do' 🙉Other peoples' opinions and thoughts of what is right for us 🙊The mean girl in our own head telling us that we don't deserve it or could never do it so why even try ....and my PERSONAL recording that plays on repeat.... 🐒Who am I to think I deserve to have this....I am not worthy It is time to get that crazy 🐒 off our backs. It is time to give yourself a little grace and whole lot of gratitude for getting to where you are RIGHT now, even if it is not where you wanted to be. I'm asking you to cut yourself some slack. You did the best you could. Many of us feel like we stumble and go 'off track' ....then beat ourselves up over it. When, most times, 'off track' is exactly where we need to be to gain the knowledge, experience and perspective to allow us to 'level up.' Today marks my own fresh start after being 'off track' for a few years. I started my own coaching career back in 2012 and worked my butt off for 6+ years to build a sustainable business, working side gigs to pay my bills and educating everyone around me what a 'life coach' could do for you. In 2018, I was finally ready to put down roots in Florida after debating for 8 long years if I was 'going to stay or if I was going to go'. I quickly learned that I either needed to pay in full in cash (not an option) or 'go back to work' to have a W2 to qualify for a mortgage. I went with option 2 and did the unthinkable (for me). I took a full time job and turned my hard earned coaching business into a side gig. I felt like a fraud. A failure. I felt like I had kissed my dreams goodbye and flushed them down the toilet. ....yep, I was a DRAMA queen over it. In reality, I was simply taking a step back to allow the dream of homeownership to take priority. ....or so I thought. Going 'off track' by taking that step back, gave me perspective and room for my own growth. While I was coaching full time, I was putting my own healing journey on hold. I didn't dare 'go down that rabbit hole' as I may not be at my best for my clients.... and that was how I paid my bills. Veering off my intended path allowed me the space to not-so-gracefully go through my own dark night of the soul, deep dive on healing including past lives, ancestral and dark interference while embracing my own special gifts. It gave me space to align Everyday Confidence to be in the flow and show up as my best self.
