Hi there! When I was younger I was able to listen to metal and harder rock, but now as a 30 year old *dissolves into the wind* I can only listen to a song for so long before my ears start to get tired of it.
Any suggestions?
Hii, I get where you're coming from. experimenting with different sub genres could be the answer. That really helped me when I started feeling bored and wanting to turn off the music. Trying out new metal sub genres allowed me to rediscover my love for metal by changing things up as before (when I first started listening to metal) I would really stick to thrash metal which sort of made me desire something else so it forced me to find other sub genres like death metal and Black metal my personal favourites now.
Or experimenting with completely new genres that you never really listen to can also help your listening experience. For a while, I even stopped listening to metal for a month or so because it didn’t hit the same as it did when I first listened to it. Instead, I got into Brit-pop, goth music, indie rock and alternative rock, which gave me a fresh perspective and helped fuel my appreciation for metal later on. Your ears might just be tired of listening to the same songs/genres as weird as that sounds lmao 😭 and want to listen to something new. It’s okay to take breaks and come back to it!!
Hope this helps at least a little! but if I’m completely off track with what you’re asking, let me know (I did basically go off on a tangent about listening to different genres), and I’ll be happy to re answer your message thank you for asking though!! 🖤
