ace + asterinâs favorite&least favorite memories of one anotherâŠ.
Interesting question⊠Iâll see what I can summon. âKeeper.
hint: pay attention to the Keeperâs word choiceâŠ
Ace: Favourite memory? Thatâs a hard one.
Asterin: That isnât very nice!
Ace: Exhibit A. Anyways, my âfavouriteâ memory has to be the time when he and I met each other in the land of the humans. We were stuck in this thing called a âuniversity.â Then he proceeded to lay his head on my chest, due to tiredness. It was our first time not being hostile to one another.
Asterin: âŠYou still remember thatâŠ? Damn it. *embarassed.*
Ace: Is that a bad thing?
Asterin: âŠnevermind. Anyways, favourite memory. Ace and I played badminton and kept a surprisingly good rally.
Ace: My least favourite memory of him is when he decided to steal my âdorm roomâ and use it to bring his âfriendsâ over. Mind you, I could not get a wink of sleep whatsoever.
Asterin: This oneâs easy. Ace here ate my ENTIRE FOOTLONG SANDWICH THAT I GOT FROM SUBWAY.
Ace: I was in dire need of food. *embarassed.*
âŠI am not going to question the behaviours of these two, and neither should you. âKeeper.
Follow these if you wish to not get expelled from the premises, soul.
âĄÂ Do not harass anyone within the Archives, including the Keeper.
âĄÂ Do not ask âNot Safe For Workâ questions.
âĄÂ Leave the premises if you will bring with you any toxicity. This includes, but is not limited to: homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, antisemitism, zionism, and racism.

???: âWhat do you believe you deserve?â
Ace: *silence.*
Asterin: *contemplative silence.*
Ace: I believe I deserve⊠a morsel of what I have. I was born into power, and I am therefore undeserving of such power. I deserve to live as Trix has lived.
Asterin: I deserve⊠balance.
???: Balance? Could you elaborate further?
Asterin: I have gone through my downs. I deserve my ups as well. And I know that for a fact.
Ace: âŠThatâs oddly poetic.
Asterin: Shut up, before I regret saying that.
Ace: My bad.
???: Both of you are free to go back to whatever you were doing.
TW: su!cide attempt, swearing. Sorry if this is a bit macabre.
@seventeeneleventeen, more lore!! :D
[Translated to English for your convenience]
âIsnât it weird to find a smile on a creature so hollow?â
âThe late NaĂŻche.
I was scared to find my sister on the bridge that day. I knew she wasnât doing the best, but I never realized it got this bad. NaĂŻche was looking at me with a look in her eyes I will never forget. It was like the mania of those possessed girls in horror movies, upped by 100. Her eyes were bloodshot that day, as if they werenât red enough. She was in the middle of the rope bridge, and there was only the grey fog underneath. The bridge swung from side to side, as my sister prepared to jump. I was paralyzed with fear, and my heart hammered in my throat, killing off whatever I was about to say. Maybe I was never meant to say anything that day. Was it inevitable? She said to me with joy that could only surface from Hell, âIsnât it weird to find a smile on a creature so hollow?â NaĂŻche giggled. I remember, her high pitched giggles that turned into laughs, then turned into shrieks. Mother couldnât have affected her this much, was all I thought.
Iâm a selfish, ungrateful demon, I thought to myself as I saw my sister swing one leg over the rope, standing on an inch of wood. Her crimson hair flew in the wind, and she shrieked again as the bridge swung further, seeming to find joy. Joy from the depths of hell. She held onto the rope somehow, staring down at the abyss of fog that would soon consume her. I watched, and did nothing. I was only capable of watching. I opened my mouth to call out to her, and she looked at me one last time. Those crimson eyes I knew so well held nothing but a shell of the demon I used to know.
âAce⊠I have to do this. I donât care if youâll hate me for the rest of your life, I wonât regret this. Itâs the first time Iâll do something for myself, so donât you dare ruin this for me you useless fucking brat!â NaĂŻche had started off calm in the beginning, then her voice had become more shrill with each word she spoke, until she started screeching at me towards the end. I closed my eyes, and heard the whooshing sound that signaled the end. I opened them again after a moment, and my sister was nowhere to be seen. I knew what happened.
She died. She died, and I stared at the last spot she had been, and I could do nothing but stare. I was in shock. She had died and all I knew, all my hope, and all my safety was gone. Gone because of her stupid, fucking selfishness.
uh huh⊠just practice for rendering velvet⊠totally. Itâs NOT fanservice for the creator (me) at all, okay? (We know thatâs a lie.)
Ace: Youâre joking, right Asterin?
Asterin: *cackling like a madmanâ, GOOD LORD, YOU LOOK DECENT FOR ONCE!
Ace: Well fuck you too then.
Asterin: âŠIâm not next, right?
(He is, he just doesnât know it yet.)
Please forgive me for lack of lore :.)

June 3rd. [ft, Asterin and Ace. Theyâre in their human forms instead of their original ones, and this is college roommate fake dating AU.]
@writingwithoutconfidence, your prompt for today! Loved this one!
âI thought you were dead,â Asterin said blankly. He just gave Ace a side-long look, and went back to scrolling on his phone. After that, he didnât bother to continue the conversation, until Ace spoke up.
âWhat youâre telling meâis that you were worried about me because I late coming home?â Ace grinned, albeit half-heartedly, and crossed his arms, leaning on the black sofa behind Asterin. The vampire had merely blinked in his face, and went back to scrolling. âYou do realize youâre not obligated to care about me, right? Weâre only fake-dating after all.â
The vampire scoffed, and retorted, âStill gotta make sure youâre alive for that, idiot.â
âEven when you know Iâll be fine with my friends?â Ace jokingly sighed, although it was a bit heavy. He let his head fall onto his arms, and still felt weird about the missing weight from the horns he used to have as a demon. Being in a human disguise will take a while to get used to, he thought.
ââŠUgh. Youâre really tired, arenât ya,â Asterin grumbled. Like Ace, he was also in a human disguise. Said human disguise happened to have black hair along with piercing black eyes that were now looking at him with sheer contempt. âSeriously, are parties that hard on you?â Asterin asked, now with a touch of concern.
Ace sighed, and nodded. He had a group project to do, along with a seperate 10,000 word essay. Along with trying not to pass out in lectures, and surviving everyone that tried to bribe him to do part of their projects⊠Ace had it rough, to say the least.
ââŠAh, fuck it, come here,â Asterin muttered, after taking a long look at his âpartnerâsâ tired state. Ace begrudgingly walked over in front of the sofa, and practically dropped down beside him. Asterin glowered at his âpartnerâsâ disheveled state. Aceâs black hair was sticking up in almost every direction, and he had looked utterly done with everything now, in much contrast to his jokes from earlier. Ace peered at Asterin through half lidded eyes, and that was oddly seductive holy shit, Asterin thought. Asterin looked right back at those two voids that mirror his own. No feelings whatsoever.
ââŠYour face is kinda red,â Ace mumbled, somehow half asleep already.
âNo it isnât, I think youâre seeing things.â
Ace scooched over to close that tiny inch between him and Asterin, and fell asleep on his partnerâs shoulder. He felt Asterinâs warmth radiating from him, and he thought, Maybe this isnât so bad after all, before falling asleep. Asterin froze, because Ace has never shown such vulnerability like this before. He took this time to look at his partner, fondly this time. The same messy mop of black hair. Same two eyes-that-can-be-mistaken-for-voids. And that same, goddamn smile and pale face. That party really wore him out, huh? Asterin thought. And so he did not rest his head on top of Aceâs, and did not wrap an arm around his shoulders, and he definitely, did not, fall asleep as well.
Ace: I was forced to do this, do not believe anything that vampire says.
Asterin: Nah, he was completely willing. I mean, look at him, all embarassed!
Ace: Fuck off bloodsucker.
Asterin: So rude, demonspawn!
(Dialogue between these two. And yes, Ace was forced. He is also not paid enough for this. Also Asterin is the Vampire Monarch.)

Ace Valerius Spade. Who doesnât know the name, here on the Aether? Heâs a prince who rose above his difficult childhood, made his name known planet-wide, and⊠heâs potentially involved with someone like that? Before we get started, Iâd just like to mention some trigger warnings. Donât read this article further if you are sensitive to these kinds of topics!
@seventeeneleventeen hope you like this!
âMentions of suicide, verbal + physical abuse, depression, and
Early Childhood:
Prince Spade had it rough from the day he was born. Statements from his mother, Queen Liliven, note that he was âquite an ugly baby,â and âhis sister looked green upon seeing him.â Definitely some⊠choice things to say about your son, but statements from his father, Valerius, contradict the things his mother said. âI knew I loved my son when I first saw him.â Valerius had told a nurse at the hospital. There are currently no baby pictures available to use for reference, as those are kept private by the Spades. Aceâs sister, NaĂŻche, had also taken a liking to Ace once he could talk, and his demonic attributes had grown in fully [the wings and horns.]
Childhood:
As Ace was growing up, he was adored by many across the planet. However, things were different behind closed doors. Statements from the Prince himself note that his parents were not kind to him and his sister, and that they lacked emotional support. âTheyâŠthey hit and yelled at us daily, for almost no reason at all. Liliven, my mother, was usually the one that did most of this. Valerius was a heavy drinker, and he was often found passed out on the couch,â a transcript of an interview with the Prince had said. During this interview, he was oddly composed, despite resenting his parents so much. âI think I know why he drank so much. My mother was a terrible woman, although many of the fellow demons watching probably believe otherwise. I think he drank just to cope. I donât blame him, but I wish he was there for me and NaĂŻche, may she rest in peace.â Further statements from our Prince, and we come to the conclusion that his father was an alcoholic, and his mother was physically and verbally abusive.
Teenage Years:
This is where Ace had it the hardest. His sister had died in a pool of her own blood the day after his birthday, only leaving behind a recording of the Earth Song, âGoing Underâ by Evanescence as a goodbye. Without his sister, Queen Liliven blamed most of her problems on the Prince. Ace wished he had at least hugged her for longer on his 14th birthday, and maybe she wouldâve still been alive with us today. As the sole child of the Spade Family, he had to bear much more on his shoulders than a regular teenage demon would today. After his sisterâs death, he slowly spiraled into a depressive state. He felt numb, and not entirely there for the rest of his teenage years. As a way to cope, he often went through his sisterâs things, like her diary and journal, to find a reason for why she had to kill herself so soon. He found one thing regarding the cause of her death, however. It was a statement from his sisterâs journal, that he read aloud on national TV to spite his parents.
âKnowing my brother, heâll read this in public, when he finds it. So then, Mother, I hope you kill yourself and stop tainting the ground you walk on. I mourn the soil youâll be buried in. I mourn whatever tree becomes your coffin. Father, I canât believe you were too much of a goddamn coward to stand up to Mother. You left me, a 9 year old, to protect my 5 year old brother from Liliven.â Ace had agreed wholeheartedly with that statement, and added his own addition to it. âYou two are the cause of my sisterâs death.â
Adulthood:
After his teenage years, things took an uphill turn. Now the official Prince, he could usurp the throne if he so wishes, by killing off Valerius. However, he hasnât chosen to do so yet for a variety of reasons, all of which are unknown to the public currently. As retaliation for the scandal Ace had caused as a teen, Queen Liliven arranged a marriage for him. He rebelled against the idea, and had disappeared for a few weeks. It took a long time to find a suitable match, especially since all the nobles seemed to be having sons, and no daughters. For all the humans out there, reading this, gay marriage is allowed. It just has to be a mutual attraction. However, there was one demon noble left, and that was Vespera Nocturnus. Sheâs been disgraced from high society ever since she married a demon from the lower parts. Her daughter, Trix, would be engaged to Ace. This revelation is shocking enough for the public, and it caused a huge amount of scandals and rumours. One of the most common ones is that Queen Liliven is homophobic. And yet, the engaged couple seem to be doing just fine.
MENTIONS OF CLASSISM AND KIDNAPPING. (non descriptive, dw.)
Trix gets kidnapped, goes to Aceâs giant manor. She realizes she is going to be Aceâs successor. Which is a very big deal. Ace initially holds a low regard of Trix, seeing that her father is a big figure in the underground. (how does he know? sources.) Trix also realizes that her mother was a disgraced noblewoman, who had her wings cut off by Trixâs father. He wanted her to blend into the underground. The only reason she was chosen as successor is bc some other noblewoman thought it would be funny to have two rival families together. (Vesperaâs family has HATED the Spades for GENERATIONS.) Trix doesnât know that. She does try her best to act like nobility (she learns from watching everyone in the manor excessively⊠heh.) so that Ace doesnât get too mad.
âAce.
Being a noble comes with a lot of pressures, especially for him. From a young age, he was trained to be the picture of regality, alongside his brother Jack. His parents, Valerius and Atalia Spade, did most of the training. However, they seemed to favour Jack a whole lot more than Ace. Then Jack went and shot his reputation in the foot, so changes were made and Ace became monarch at 23, instead of 25. To keep up family reputation of course. His parents are mostly absent now, and they donât keep up with his life anymore. Due to these lessons, Ace now despises people in poverty because of the propaganda the nobility spreads. He initially hates Trix, seeing her like scum. But he slowly warms up to her, and tolerates her. (I MEAN SLOWLY.)
I should do something else explaining the customs, right? Should I make a side blog tho?? Like specifically for the world of these two?? (PLS COMMENT I LOVE COMMENTS AND RESPONDING TO THEM :DDD)
