How much you want to bet Nox doesn’t know what movies are?
Well it’s definitely been confirmed he doesn’t know what a camera is
Okay genuine question for the Cinderella boy fandom cause I see this everywhere but have no idea what it means (I entered the fandom too late ;’()
What’s the story behind “punko can read this?” What does it mean??? Is it a code? A hieroglyphics? Some sort of summoner for the author?? Please enlighten me, older fans 🙏
How much you want to bet Nox doesn’t know what movies are?
as a certified yaoi lover and BL thinker there are some het ships that are so good that i dont like the popualr mlm ship with that character
100% true.
It’s so funny because I’ve seen people complain about how fandoms always favor the non-straight ships the most (which, if you didn’t want to happen, you should stop giving them so much homoerotic tension 🙄), but some fandoms have their clear favorites despite LGBTQ+ alternatives that would usually have a dynamic that is usually more popular and favors what the fans usually like. And even the ones with less clear favorites, it’s always interesting when the straight ship is still one of the top favorites because we all know how the fandoms tend to act lol.
And it makes sense, because some ships just transcend sexuality honestly 😌.
Husk getting all fluttered when he realises the singer is Angel is real cute.
But him blushing when he walks away is sweeter. He's still thinking about him.
He's so into Angel that it's embarrassing.
There is not a pure thought behind those eyes lmao. Husk you ain't slick.
I really liked the little heart to heart they had. It's a parallel to episode four of last season. Only this time, Angel is the one comforting Husk. And it works. He manages to convince him to come home just by being sweet.
They could have had a romantic moment if it wasn't for that ending.
Extra Spoilers
So this may be a little premature, since I can’t read simplified Chinese and I’ve only been looking at fan translation, but I am 90% certain the System is lying about nearly everything in the new extra.
I love the idea of Bingzu and want to believe he’s real… but I don’t think he is. I think the System invented him to tug at Shen Yuan’s heartstrings, because it KNOWS Shen Yuan couldn’t bear to let the last remnant of a Binghe’s soul be destroyed, and therefore it has guaranteed itself protection from Bingmei’s (justified) wrath against it for the harm it has done to Shen Yuan, to Xiang Fei, and yes—to Bingmei as well.
The evidence I present to the Jury is thus:
The system interaction begins in response to Shen Yuan thinking about talking with Binghe about it. The system’s opening message is it begging Shen Yuan not to dismantle it. This is punctuated with a crying emoji for maximum emotional manipulation.
Shen Yuan askes – if he helps the System, what does he get? The system has to come up with something it thinks Shen Yuan will value.
Shen Yuan says that all he has to do is speak to Binghe on behalf of the system – that communication can fail and he might not convince him. The system KNOWS it needs to come up with some airtight reason for Shen Yuan to not just follow through with his agreement, but to really WANT it to persist.
The original information the System presents to SY is a MOUNTAIN OF SCROLLS that he could never read in a human lifetime. I propose that it is stalling for time here while it gets its story straight.
Luo Bingzu’s world supposedly came to an end, so it’s not like they can visit it to collect evidence to verify the system’s story…
If Bingzu was unsatisfied with his life, but believed it could be changed, why end it at all? Putting spirits out there to save some alternate universe version of yourself doesn’t sound like it would really help you at all. Even if the system is telling the truth about everything else, I would say it’s definitely lying about Bingzu creating it on purpose for the purpose of “a better ending” for other Binghes. Primarily because the system never ONCE acts in a way that brings any Luo Binghe happiness! Not ONCE! But it sure does act to cause him pain on SEVERAL occasions!
The story the System gives for Shang Qinghua doesn’t make sense at face value either. What do you MEAN a normal mortal man just randomly sensed fragments of another world that had been long destroyed? And he was the ONLY guy who sensed them? In the whole MULTIVERSE? When people who have been cultivating sensory powers for many lifetimes exist out there? When Actual Seer Madam Meiyin exists in multiple worlds??? And so the System latched onto HIM? WHAT???? Lies. Shang Qinghua is PIDWs creator god, and the System doesn’t want him to know the power he has, because he might use it to avenge himself against the System!
The system brought up the trading bodies thing to keep Shen Yuan from believing it is a killer. I know it brought a lot of people peace to think that SJ willingly gave up his body, but think about it for ONE SECOND. Would this man, who has fought tooth and NAIL for what he has, and is FAMOUSLY distrusting… really trust this unknown entity for his second chance? NO! He’d rather claw his second chance from the world himself! He was trained by a demonic cultivator! He can snatch a new body on his own and disappear if he wants to, thank you very much!
It claims to have placed Shang Qinghua in the world to alter the plot to make Binghe’s life better… but DID IT THOUGH???? It gave him absolutely no motivation to do so – and in fact it gave him an incentive at times to NOT do so!
But it knows that blaming Airplane is something Shen Yuan will be on board with, so
The thing closest to truth in the System’s whole explanation, I think, is its selection of Shen Yuan as the second Transmigrator. I think it really did see Shen Yuan and go “Wow, what a weird little dedicated guy! He’s perfect for putting in Situations UwU”
So the System expects us to believe that the time in the plot and the character SY transmigrated into were random? That it had so much control over everything else, but not that? Why would that be the case? If the System knew its limits in that regard, wasn’t bringing in ANY Transmigrator a huge gamble? Wouldn’t it be likely they’d be transmigrated into a dying person too late into the story to change anything?
And of course the System then goes on to flatter SY for his “efficiency” lol. Really?
At the end of the explanation, SY pretty much asks the system: “So your task is over? Then why don’t you get out of me.”
And the system goes “Well you’re pretty much my energy farm sooooooo” (Which I have a whole OTHER theory about why systems may be powered by Heavenly Demons, but we won’t get into that in this post…) Suffice to say, I think the System wants to reside in SQQ specifically because of his frequent access to Heavenly Demon jizz, which is probably a huge power boost for the System it couldn’t get otherwise.
*People might call me Cucumber-bro for this rant, idec XD
*Note: I’m gonna enjoy the hell out of Bingzu fic, tho <3 so pls still write it!
EDIT: Addition to say! Why the hell would the System mention or care about readers or reader satisfaction if it was just trying to make a happy ending for Binghe? Why is it even a System to begin with and not just presenting itself as a spirit? ((Personally, my answer is because it was created unintentionally by Xiang Fei - but that's only my speculation.))
// svsss new extra spoilers (and tgcf. and mdzs)
i am fully aware this might not make the most sense but it's been bouncing in my head and talking with the mutuals last night put some of this down into words for me so. i do think that mdzs and tgcf work excellently as like, companion works that are interested in the same core questions and explore different facets to the various answers we can give to those questions, but given what the new extra has told us about the svsss world and the system itself (or systems plural, i suppose) — which will most certainly become clearer the day we get a proper translation sometime in the future (this looks pretty good?) — i've been thinking about tgcf and what it has to say, specifically re: shang qinghua (or . xiang fei).
i mean, even without the extra we can draw a lot of comparisons, i think — in the sense that he was pretty much the PIDW god, and he was creating a miserable, loveless world because it was what sold, and he was living a pretty miserable life himself and he needed to do what paid the bills, and his creation being bingge, (to quote @overthinkingmoth) the guy who achieved the ultimate patriarchal alpha male fantasy but he was miserable because his revenge was hollow and it did not do anything and he never found any form of love at all following his revenge. you could draw comparisons to jun wu to that, i think, how he's the heavenly emperor sitting on the throne at the top of a very discriminating and patriarchal system, but he's still alone and hollow.
there are several comparisons to be made with mdzs and tgcf, and to steal it word for word from @adhdo5:
BUT OKAY TO CIRCLE BACK TO SVSSS: these things also remain true of svsss, and it reminds me so much of shen yuan when i talk about xie lian! shen yuan's simple refusal to let others suffer that saved the world, saved luo binghe from a miserable and lonely existence, saved liu qingge from dying, saved the disciples from misery! and xie lian's kindness that ultimately saves him and everyone else around him. the simple fact that he strives to be kind and in return other people choose to be kind and decent and stick to their morals being what undermines jun wu every step of the way. the way in mdzs we do see that even though this is a story where things are so bleak, kindnesses did matter: we have proof in lan sizhui! in jin ling! the sunshot gen being better than their parents and their kids being better than them! that love and kindness does matter!
okay and to circle back to my original point: comparing tgcf and svsss specifically in context of shang qinghua. okay. we all know that svsss has a lot to say about the way artists' creative freedom is often so severely limited by constraints and it can become really depressing, and shang qinghua is actually quite happy with the way shen yuan's actions and insistence on making things better for other people in small ways that eventually built up into a world where luo binghe is happy, and so is everyone else, or at least on the way on finding that kind of happiness press f to pay respects to tianlang-jun because, as we understand from the original text and is made even clearer in the new extra, it's the kind of world that's startlingly similar to what he had originally wanted to write for PIDW!
and like. given what we know from the extra. i saw someone on twitter phrase it like shang qinghua quite literally failed at being a god and the systems took away his power and dropped him into the world he created so that he could cause no further damage. but what choice did he have other than that? he needed to survive under, well, capitalism, it's what paid the bills, and he was alone and by himself and no one would help him and he was trying to simply survive. now. compare that to xie lian. xie lian who so desperately wanted to save the common people and fix the issues in his kingdom but he was just one twenty-year-old guy and no one in heaven would help him and his godhood should have meant he could fix things but ultimately he failed and then he was banished and thrown out.
idk man i feel like i'm scrambling here. it's just — mxtx is so continually making points in her work that she keeps drawing callbacks to and exploring different ways the same questions can be answered, the different setbacks and fallouts, and just. biting. the fact that no matter what happens, the fact that caring and trying your best to make things better, even if it does fail, there are still benefits to be had from it. no matter what.
you can tell i have officially gone off the deep end. this is by no means comprehensive (or even all of what we talked about . rip) but its the things that stick out most to me rn,,,
I feel like it also says a lot about the nature vs nurture question. Xie Lian was privileged to grow with friends and family that cared, with morals taught to him. Xiang Fei didn’t have that because he always had to rely on himself and help himself first and foremost, he didn’t have the capacity to care about others when he was barely getting by in his own world, of course he’s going to act that way in the SVSSS world where the chances of dying significantly increase. (It also brings to the question if he would’ve acted the same if he was in other bodies beside SQH - if he had a set character that was going to survive, would he have cared more?)
But yeah, just looking at it that way, it’s such a callback to how the way you grow up influences you and how that will define how you act as an adult. Obviously not always the same, because some characters can grow or change or break generational trauma, but it’s not that easy when you’re alone and you don’t have anyone to model that behavior. It’s something that is very apparent in MDZS with Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao.
Circling back to the main point, I definitely agree with OP on the similarities of Xia Lian and Xiang Fei in a world where they were powerless and unable to change things, but the way they went about it is very different also from the way they grew up too. It’s kinda sad because it implies that no matter whether you’re kind or care or can care about others, sometimes you will never be enough or have enough power to change things to be better. Sometimes bad things happen and nothing can stop it.
EXACTLY WHAT I MEANT
Tell me why I’m finding out about a new SVSSS extra through tumblr 😭😭😭😭
In all seriousness though, this extra gives us so many details that have often been explored in fanon but never confirmed. Crazy that MXTX just surprised us with this lol
Finding out SQHs real name was!! As he is my favorite character, I always love to learn more about my sneaky pathetic little blorbo 🥺
Shen Yuans family details were very interesting, and it’s just hilarious how his sister always knew he was gay LMAO
What really struck me though was the sad history of Luo Binghe and the reality of this world . . . Like SVSSS wasn’t tragic enough 😭
Also it puts so much meaning into the title of the novel. Scum Villain’s SELF SAVING SYSTEM. BECAUSE BINGHE WANTS TO SAVE HIMSELF.
Ninjago Fic Idea #2458
The ninjago fandom is really just a group of dedicated children at heart who grew up too attached to this show and never let go lol. Love that I'm still into it even until now
I've been writing a future au for ninjago with fankids and it's meant to be a canon au years later after the main members of the team disappeared . . .
Anyways, I've always been a big fan of the fics that explore an AU where Garmadon is ruling Ninjago and has been for years, or some variation of that (some of my favorites include In the End and Welcome Aboard, I am Captain Walker) and just thinking about the context of the fankids in that kind of AU got away from me. I certainly have no time to start another fic rn lol but it's fun to think about that kind of AU, and it doesn't help that the songs from Epic (the musical) only fuel my ideas.
Kinda similar to the fics I've mentioned, the idea would be that Garmadon has been ruling Ninjago for years now, ever since the ninja were small - it's all they've ever known. Of course, Garmadon is an oppressive dictator so the people aren't happy or safe under his rule, but have no power to stop him.
Nya and Kai have the same backstory, growing up on their own after their parents disappeared (killed by Garmadon but they don't know that) and running the blacksmith. Cole, as the son of a major performer, would be living more comfortably than the others but run the same issue of not having any passion for dance. Zane would be wondering the world after his creator passed away, no memories to help him and lost. Jay would be living with his parents, just living his simple life. And Lloyd would be on the run, just trying to survive (his mom would have run away while she was pregnant with him after Garmadon took over - she would've passed away during childbirth and Lloyd would've been taken care of by a kind soul she passed him on too until they too eventually died and he was left alone). It's the same beginning as in the show, but slightly different circumstances.
As for the other characters . . . they would be living as best as they can. Pixal would not have been created yet. Skylor would be on the island with her father, who has a tentative agreement with Garmadon to be left alone, but that could change in any instant. Harumi . . . it is common knowledge that her parents (the Emperor and Empress) are in hiding, and many people want them to take over again . . . They themselves were trying to plan a revolution but were discovered when Harumi was young and died - Harumi was able to escape but was forced to live on the run, moving from place to place in hiding.
Eventually, Lloyd (8 years old) would've run into Kai and Nya (while trying to steal some food), and they would've taken him in (RGB siblings ;D). They would have grown up together, right up until a mysterious old man by the name of Wu approaches them (let's say around when Lloyd is 14).
He would explain their elemental powers that came from their parents (also Wu would've been surprised at Lloyd's appearance but would not have said anything or revealed the truth). After some convincing (specifically from Kai), they would've started training under him while also trying to earn money through the blacksmith. Wu would also occasionally go on trips to look for the other elemental masters with no luck - it took him years just to find these three and he was lucky they were together.
It all comes to a head a year later when it gets back to Garmadon that someone with elemental powers is in their village, and they attack. They try to run away as the village is burning and everyone is escaping, but they're surrounded. Wu is fighting them off, but they must avoid being seen or recognized - eventually, Lloyd decides to approach and try to take the attention from them. It backfires, because the use of his elemental power would've flagged the general, and they end up capturing just him to Garmadon, who confirms this is his son and decides to . . . re-educate him.
(What Nya and Kai didn't know is that one of the people who escaped that day was a friend of Lloyd who he had befriended and was helping feed and shelter. Harumi leaves the village believing Lloyd was killed and feeling heartbroken.)
Nya and Kai assume Lloyd was killed and vow revenge. As the village is destroyed, they decide to leave with Wu (still not sure if I want Wu to suspect he's still alive or not given he knows that Lloyd is related to Garmadon) and look for the other elemental masters. One by one they're found, and they train and fight and try to rebel against Garmadon's reign.
They become the ninja team family we know and love as they try to gain experience and hone their powers. They go around all Voltron-esque, freeing villages and fighting the Garmadon forces. During this time, presumably a lot of the smaller enemies and plots that occurred in the show would happen here too, just fitted to the backstory of the AU. Eventually, once the teens reached ages 21-25, they would attempt a coup that eventually backfires and leads to the presumed death of Wu. The ninja team go back into hiding to regroup and figure out what to do.
At this point, they bump into a very mysterious island with a leader who seems too suspicious to be true . . . That’s right! They’ve landed on Chen’s island, and of course, Skylor is there for the ride. This time, theres no tournament, but Chen tries to convince the ninja team to work with him to defeat Garmadon (without realizing that he wants to take over instead and rule Ninjago). Once the truth is eventually revealed, the team feels betrayed and fight him. Skylor, having befriended them at this point, feels guilty and helps turn the tide to fight against her father. She becomes the new leader of the island, providing a safer space and respite from Garmadon for the inhabitants. She of course agrees to ally with the ninja and offers her support. They stay there for a few months, before deciding to travel around for allies and mysterious relics that were said to be very powerful in hopes of turning the tide against the overlord.
Throughout their journeys, they meet Pixal and her father, who agree to help and station themselves with Skylor after going into hiding because of Garmadon. Again, just a lot of meeting side characters and gaining them as allies or going through some of the similar B plots of the show.
Lloyd would have been suffering under his father’s training, but would get an unusual respite soon . . .
Now, we enter the main story. Yes, you’re reading this right. This was all meant to be backstory in the past, and instead, the main story begins in the future with the fan kids. Lots of people missing or parents unknown!
I wonder what happened to the teens, now adults, in the meantime ;) Anyways, this has gotten too long so if anyone’s interested in a part 2 let me know.
Unrelated to anything ever but my friends and I were talking about how unhinged the alien stage characters are and . . . .
Till is literally the most sane person in the cast, hands down. Till, idk how you do it (especially considering he's arguably the last one alive), but kudos to you.
Addicted by Luka came out and . . . Huh. I mean putting my own opinion on the song aside, it’s interesting to see what this song says about Luka himself.
Every time Luka sings, he was either giving a performance or singing with someone else (if not both), and it has been analyzed a million times how he often mimics the the precious people of the people he’s singing with to throw them off, or will match the person he’s signing with to meet them halfway (thinking of Weige).
HAPPY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES TO EVER BE MADE
It's been an incredible ride folks, and it will continue to be. And of course, the babies who all deserved so much more - Chara, Asriel, Frisk - are now adults!! May the world be kinder to them now than it was before.
Art fight attacks on @emthimofnight !!!
Swap AU of out babies where my silvaze kids are experiments and her sonadow sibles are royalty WOOHOO
What do you mean I can't just inject a wire between my computer and brain to have it transport the entire story I want to tell instantly?? You mean I have to sit down and spend hours . . . typing it out myself?? What time period are we in, the stone ages??
The Sky and The Stars (p.1?)
Getting obsessed with fankids and a fanship . . . to the point of writing about them . . . and them not even being from the same artist . . . Couldn't be me :)
Lune the Hedgehog (and his sister, Nymph) are created by @einelitas as silvaze kids, and Void the Hedgehog (and his siblings - Stellar, Polarity, & Andromeda) are from @emthimofnight as sonadow kids. Based of this post - essentially based of an AU by einelitas as a swap AU where the sonadow kids are royalty (LOL) and the silvaze kids are the experiments. Made up a lot of the lore for this AU, but hope it fits them!! Check them out if you haven't heard of the characters!! Their creators have done such a good job :)
