there a guy at my college who looks like calum hood and iâm so shook
So to add on to this lovely little post, the guy who looks like calum is in my basic statistics class...
And he sits right beside me
Into the Spider-Verse is, undoubtedly, a Miles Morales movie, yet I canât help but feel sympathy for Peter B. Parker and relate to him more than to Miles as the twenty something kid that I am. The moral of the story the movie presents is there, and itâs Milesâ moral, but Peterâs character story and arc is also there and itâs maybe sadder than you think in that funny, light movie, but so important to me.
Gen Z and Millennials can definitely relate to the older Peter, even if heâs 38 years old. Heâs tired, heâs done, he just wants some rest, he resents his responsibilities, heâs screwed up more times than he remembers, heâs not much of a fan of kids, he doesnât even care about proper spelling (âThereâs always a bypass key, a virus key, a who-cares key, I can never remember so I just call it a goober.â). Honestly, mood. And Iâm only in college, people.
See, there is this moment in the movie that is supposed to serve as a comedic moment: Miles tries to say âwith great power comes great responsibilityâ but Peter abruptly cuts him off, almost screaming âdonât you dare finish that sentence, donât do it!â. Then he follows with âIâm sick of it.â And then he says âMy advice? Go back to being a regular kid.â
Peter still tries to live by the words of his uncle, but where at the beginning they were his motivation and something that gave his life meaning, now theyâre a resented responsibility drawing a circle he canât break out from. Heâs been slowly losing his passion for being Spider-Man, just putting the suit on because he feels like he has to. He even says that Mary Jane scared him by her wanting kids. Heâs scared to move on and to be something else, something more than just Spider-Man.
When you get a close up of his face
you can see the determination on his face, but there are also a broken nose, bags under his eyes, the hair he doesnât even care to pull back, the gray skin, the scruff, a few wrinkles even, and⊠sadness. Heâs genuinely sad, heâs depressed, and so done with everything. But heâs not one to quit. Heâs still living by Benâs words.
Those words have become his curse because he lost his way somewhere along his life, because he overdid it with understanding the words. Itâs like with Titanic where they were supposed to have women on the lifeboats first, and then men, but they just let the women step into the lifeboats because they didnât understand the command. That being said, instead of being just a motivation and inspiration, Benâs words became something he canât let go of, almost like a drug, like a sick addiction, and maybe he does see it, maybe he doesnât, but itâs there, and itâs determining his life. He canât help but loathe them. He doesnât allow himself to be something else but these words. He is those words, nothing else.
Things happen, movie ends, and while Milesâ moral of the story is that everyone can wear a mask and nobodyâs ever ready to be a hero, that they just grow into it, and all you need is that little spark, Peter B. Parker learns that the words heâs lived by arenât what should make his life sad, broken, and resentful. He learns that heâs just a person like any other, not just words. Thanks to the little journey with Miles he learns over again that being Spider-Man is supposed to be fun and a responsibility among other things, not only a responsibility determining his day-to-day life 24/7. Peter learns that being a hero does require a lot of sacrifice, but itâs just a part of who he is, and that he has the right to be happy.
I donât know what you got out of the movie, but in my opinion, Peter B. Parker teaches you in this movie that you have the right to be happy. You have the right to live a good life despite one or more responsibilities that set up your daily basis, whether itâs a job or a problem youâve had for a while. You can still be happy.
I stepped out of the movie theater thinking, âgoddammit, why donât people remember that you can still be happy nowadays? Why do people determine their lives by only the bad things? Why are we like this? Why am I like this?â And honestly? Despite all the bullsh*t, all the crap, and all the small or big problems, I deserve some happiness, man. And so do you.
tony stark loves peter parker and just want to protect him
when tony meets peter, he shows interest in him, he tries to find out if peter is a good person, before recruiting himÂ
peter was already spiderman and tony just gave him more protection with a new suit
he believes in him when no one does
he brings peter into fight because he thinks captain wouldnât hurt him, and he hoped they wouldnât have to fight
after all the sufferings heâs been through, after being betrayed, after seeing his parents get murdered, and after being left alone in siberia, the first thing he does is taking peter home
tony is scared for peter, so he creates him a suit with everything he might need, to protect him
he puts a parachute in his suit because he saw pepper and rhodey almost die falling, and doesnât want it to happen to peter
he puts a heater in his suit so that peter is not to suffer the cold as it happened to him
he puts a tracker to be able to find peter wherever he is, because he knows what itâs like to be lost
he puts the baby-monitor protocol to be able to watch over him and act if something goes wrong
and an ai to help and support him
tony didnât just âput a instant kill mode in a 15 years old childâs suitâ, he protected this mode with the training wheels protocol that peter broke
he takes care of peter, he often asks happy how peter is
and listens to the messages he leaves him
he watches over him, protects him, saves him, he asks him to stay away from danger..
he wants him to concentrate on his studies, he suggests to get him into MIT
tonyâs arm is shaking because heâs about to have an anxiety attack because heâs scared for peter ( it breaks my heart )
he supports peter
his dad never gave him support so he tries to break the cycle and be there for peter, he doesnât want to reproduce his fatherâs mistakes
tony listens to peter, and calls the FBI as soon as peter warns him about the villains
peter made a mistake he almost got himself killed and other people so tony takes the suit back
he wants to teach him to take responsibility for his actions
he would feel so guilty if anything happens to peter, he donât NEED that on his conscience. he already blames himself for so much things, even when itâs not his fault..
and he doesnât want peter to have to live with deaths on his conscience. people always blame him and he always blames himself for everything, he doesnât want peter to live the suffering heâs going through
when peter proves that he is ready, that he has learned from his mistakes, and learned that he can be a hero without the suit, tony offers him to become an avenger and gives him the suit back
HE LOOKS SO PROUD OF PETERÂ
how can people say things like âprotect peter from tonyâ?? tony is the best thing that could happen to peter. heâs the best mentor he could have had. he loves peter so much and does everything to protect him
Remember when the IW comicon trailer leaked and we were all like âohh mann Thanos really threw a WHOLE MOON at the Avengersâ but nah Thanos actually threw a whole moon at tony stark
Thanos was unnecessarily EXTRAâą Â about Tony.
He called out one (1) hero by NAME. He gave RESPECT to one (1) hero. He threw a WHOLE-ASS MOON at one, count it, ONE (1) hero. He wasnât gonna kill Tony with just one stone, but the WHOLE-ASS GAUNTLET all four (4) stones. Like he could just turn Tony into bubbles or whatever with the reality stone, but NOPE, somehow killing Tony necessitated everything Thanos had.
I dunno what is going on, but Thanos needs to leave my man alone.
So someone said to me that you can never meet a good person off the Internet. I want to prove them wrong. Reblog if you've met someone from the Internet and they've turned out to be one of the best people to ever exist.

tony created ai since he was 16. dum-e, U, Jarvis, Friday, Karen and others like Jocasta and Takeshi (we saw a brief glimpse of them when Tony installed Friday after Jarvis was gone in AoU). None of them were violent, rude, dangerous or had any murderous tendencies whatsoever.
but the moment wanda and the mind stone get thrown into the mix we get ultron. huh.
Itâs almost as if there were multiple reasons and factors to blame for the creation of Ultron and Tony Stark was merely the mouthpiece of it as opposed to the sole responsibility of it. Who would have thought.
me: haha oh god this is so bad im making so many unsupported claims and pulling all this analysis out of my ass
my prof in the margins: excellent analysis!

If this wasnât me in comp I last semester đ
do yâall ever wonder how calculating tony must be? like not in the cold emotionless way, but the math he must do on a general basis? someone could swing a yo-yo and heâd probably be able to tell you itâs period and tension of the string
like he looks at things and calculates. he made peterâs suit to fit perfectly to him, and he didnât even MEET him. he watched youtube videos and calculated his mass, his weight distribution, his physics, his internal sense of gravity and space. youtube videos.Â
he looks at people and calculates. he could probably tell you the exact parabolic function for the shape of your nose. either way heâs a genius genius and i love him
i, for one, am very glad you made it through another year. congratulations. i know it hasnât been easy.
You know what? New rule.
If you force an introvert into a social gathering they donât feel comfortable with/donât want to go to you are responsible for their good time.
You have to include them in conversations or go sit with them when they have no one to talk to.
Because if you canât do that, donât make them come. Donât force them in a situation where they feel alone and helpless and leave them floundering.Â
âBut itâs good for them to get out.â Youâre not making me adapt. Youâre not making me more social. Youâre reinforcing every negative opinion I have on these gatherings and giving me the resolve to say âFuck offâ the next time you try this.
I would also like to add to this rule. Do not trap them there. Make sure they have a way to get home without you or you are willing to take them home if they feel uncomfortable. Even if you do spend time with them and make sure they have a good time let them leave if they want. Social interaction even with people they know and like can be tiring and they canât always keep up with extroverts.

College Advice
1. Just because you took 7 classes in high school doesnât mean you can manage 7 classes in college. 2. Just because you woke up at 6am everyday in high school doesnât mean you can wake up at 6am everyday in college. 3. Just because you got straight Aâs in high school doesnât mean youâll necessarily get straight Aâs in college (and thatâs okay). 4. Just because your teachers in high school said they were preparing you for college doesnât mean youâre actually prepared for college.
5. If your advisor says itâs too much, itâs too much.
6. If Health Services says to take a day off, take a day off.
7. If you have flu symptoms, do not go to class, you donât want to be the start of an epidemic.
8. If you have a diagnosed disability (including mental illness) you can get a lot of accommodations including stuff that you might not expect, like making teachers accept late work
9. 99% of your problems can be solved by talking to the professor and doing it earlier rather than later.
10. talk to people about how you are feeling. even if itâs about a single homework problem that is making you feel as if you canât do anything right.
11. DO. NOT. OVERWORK. YOURSELF. if you are a full time student and working you should not work over 20 hours a week(most of the time, there are always exceptions ie. paying for college or covering the occasional shifts). you need time to sleep, eat, study/do homework, and to spend time with friends. try to pick up the extra hours on breaks. take care of yourself, please.
i had to work with my ex today because iâm back in my hometown because iâm on christmas break and it made me realize that i myself am still completely in love with this idiot. đ
I want one of those scenes in a dude bro film where âtomboyâ chick has to wear a dress to go undercover or whatever, but instead of the guys drooling as she walks down the stairs, theyâre like âk. U need to stop. Go put the cargo pants back on. You look super uncomfortable and awkward in that. Brutus, you go be the fake prostitute.â
Iâm just imagining this super ripped guy called Brutus being like âYESSS!!! IâVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE THE FAKE PROSTITUTE!! Now is my time to shine!!â
so I got inspired⊠and had to make a comicâŠ.
