Mark nodded his head a little bit. “Yeah, it was a little bit after I came home. I think.” Hearing her confession, he got up and moved over to her. It seemed like they both had done stuff they weren’t proud of and he hated that she was carrying this alone and didn’t tell him sooner. “I know you didn’t. I know, love.” He wrapped his arms around and kissed the top of her head. Pulling away slightly, he looked into her eyes. “Sofie’s little sister got kidnapped by some guys that she owed and I went in to save her. Remember when I was black and blue for awhile? Yeah, we got into a fight and the guy was actually going to kill me and Sofie’s little sister saved me and I took care of the body. Duncan has some company and I took over the guys business. We’ve all done thing, babe.”

Evie wrapped her arms around him, finding comfort in him. She didn’t know what she was going to do but it did feel... somewhat better to have it out there, to have him know and not judge her and run away. Especially after her track record with Ruby, his own family. She pulled back a little and looked at him. At least that explained why Sofie had been hanging around so much - and she hated being jealous but it had happened a little. “Jesus... that’s intense.” She kissed him lighty. “Are you okay? Are they okay?” She shrugged. “I know, it’s just... this girl... I can’t stop thinking about her, about the way the car just...” She trailed off, feeling a bit sick about herself - she’d run over her again on purpose after all.

“It isn’t easy but having Nina helps a lot.” She sighed a little bit. “If Aunt Evie wants to take them for a couple hours I certainly wouldn’t protest.”

Evie was used to Ruby shooting her daggers anytime she went too close to Hope so she wasn’t used to people wanting her to look after their babies. She blinked, biting her lip lightly as she glanced at the babies. “Oh, I... I’m probably not the best person.”

Mark raised a brow slightly. “What do you mean you killed someone? I mean outside of that Duncan guy?”

Evie opened her eyes, not sure what she was even feeling but she’d finally gotten the confirmation from reading the newspaper this morning and she knew she could be in some serious trouble here. “I... remember the night I came back late? Really late? Like... back in May, I dunno... I hit someone... with my car... that’s why I needed you to put new tires... I didn’t know they died... I didn’t hear anything so I thought maybe they were okay and... but I saw in the paper that they died, there was a memorial yesterday, I...” She frowned. “I didn’t do it on purpose, I didn’t...” She knew he knew the Ruby thing had been purposeful but it’s not like she’d wanted to kill her.

Mark got up and moved over to her. “No, tell me. What is going on?” He questioned softly, looking into her eyes. “Whatever it is. I’m here.” 

Evie squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head. “I killed somebody...” She mumbled.

“I insist that you go first.”

Evie made a face, she really wasn’t sure he’d still be standing there long enough to say whatever he was going to say after she told him so. “Forget it, it’s nothing.”

“You can be too great?!” He grinned a bit and shrugged. “Well, suit yourself…” He took another generous swig.

“Apparently.” She forced a little smile and then shrugged. “Enjoy or whatever.”

“Same. Not one for the screeching children either.” He shrugged a little bit, before taking her hand.

“Alright, we’ll run for the hills together then.” She joked as they walked.

“If you aren’t here to get hammered with me, then shut up and leave me alone.” Maya muttered, downing the drink in front of her without even looking up to see who had slid into the seat next to her.

“I mean, you don’t really seem like you want company.” Evie pointed out as she sat down, trying to catch the bartenders eye.

“I guess this place is alright. The food is definitely great.” Cassidy muttered looking around at the food during the Halloween party.
